Also, if it's a human-centric humanfest I'm gonna have to pass. Mass Effect: came for the story, stayed for the aliens. If they focus on humanity all the freaking time or the only "alien" species they put the spotlight on are the asari, no. Just no. Sorry.

I'm serious. My decission is straight up going to be dictated by the gay/lesbian character ratio they put in the game.

You prefer a higher gay-to-straight ratio, or lower?

Not really, all software has bugs even out of beta testing. What an overblown statement.
Also this is the equivalent of saying I will not buy a new car until my broken hoopti/funeral car is in tip top condition so I may stop using it and switch to the new one.
Why WOULDNT you want to upgrade from what you perceive as low quality and unreliable to something hopefully more reliable? And if you decide to go that inane route why would you switch from your perfected product to something that could have flaws as it is untested? This argument leaks from both ends.

I'm hoping we get some sort of announcement or trailer during E3 this year.

I likely won't touch it till it goes on sale, and after ther first patch. My trust in Bioware's ability to run the zoo is really low after both the ****up of the single players ending and the repeated errors in multiplayer content.
I just don't think they can do it, not if they follow the same development path of keeping PC and console code in lockstep. They really should have taken advantage of the PC port to run pre-content release betas, put in more debug tools (such as full display of actual numerical values, visual displays of key variables). Frankly they didn't leverage the community very well and over seem to have treated us like moronic ingrates, while they held back all the critical information.
The store features very high on my list of "I can't believe they....", which is paired very close to the months long ignoring and then eventual total dismissal of the problems a not insignificant number of players have with Hunter Vision and other screen overlays.
They've got a long way to go in proving they can climb out of this pit and actually create something really functional and not just look pretty.
The only thing the Mass Effect franchise has going for it now is art style, and it being virtually the only shooter with a large number of Powers. It's only a matter of time before a Sci-Fi themed MOBA or similar style game adds Co-Op mixed with a 1st/3rd person shooter elements and basically does Mass Effect better. Based on how this pay to Beta has gone, I really don't believe Bioware can pull it off.

On this note I should say that giving the community debugging tools doesn't actually do a whole lot in most cases, and BioWare has internal debugging tools that can let them see all the actual numerical values(or at least I hope they do).
Even in the hands of a programmer like me, I can only guess as to what is going on but I can't actually guarantee anything because I can't see and modify the source code.
I've had plenty of cases where a user could see the numbers and said to me "Oh that seems easy to fix, all you gotta do is change X".
and as it turns out not only does changing X not fix the problem, but it also breaks Y.

I didn't say gay/straight, I said gay/lesbian. As long as they are similar-ish it'll be okay.
I'm just fed up with bioware's policy of "lesbians r hot, gays are eww"

Wasn't there 1 of each? Cortez and Traynor?
If you're counting bi that's probably a losing battle since, you know, Asari.

That's not been confirmed as far as I know.
They merely asked if people would prefer the next game to take place before or after Commander Shepard.

Is that confirmed by now? That would be a total turn-off to me. They effed up the ending and imho they should face the repercussions now, by showing us what happened after starbrat.
On topic: I will most likely do that.
Edit1: @Cyonan: Thanks for confirming that. Exatly what I read last time I checked.
Edit2: @superblaze: Did Obama tell you that?

edit: this is only theory that it goes in place with Stargazer's story.
