No. It's transhumanism! And transhumanism is GOOD. Therefore Synthesis is GOOD. What's that you say, people who do care about narrative context, thematic consistency, and violation of consent? LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA.
Even worse, some people say it's optional and you don't have to pick it.

Right. There's always the super-satisfying option of genociding the geth, thereby negating one of the high points of the game.Robosexual wrote...

You don't "genocide" a bunch of equipment but yes, it's super-satisfying wiping out murderous robots who the game was trying to whitewash the past atrocities of.
Lay of the IT kool aid, there's no "becoming a reaper" in 3.

I too was shocked when a game about choices presented a hard choice to me. I wanted the game about galactic survival to hold my hand and not present me with anything that questioned my morals.

You know Robosexual, I usually don't like your post. But damn, this one made me laugh out loud. Bravo. You've hit the nail right on the head.

Since they're both idiots in ME2 & 3, it's completely insignificant who survives Virmire.

A hybrid? Nope.
The originally leaked script spelled it out more clearly, but it's still true. You become a Reaper.

A Reaper is: "billions of organic minds, uploaded and conjoined within immortal machine bodies."

"Synthesis is bad."
"It's also optional"
"The other choices have negatives too."
"Because it's supposed to be a hard choice"
"You're saying it's deep and artistic"
Dunno how you made that leap in logic, or what it has to do with anything we said before it. It's a different argument that I have no interest in, as I just care about the facts of the end not subjective opinions on it.
