[ISHYGDDT]

 Recently I've been soloing a lot, and the best I've been able to do with a GI and various weapons (Claymore, Piranha, Scorpion etc...) has been around 31-32 minutes on glacier.  I'd like to get a solo under 25 minutes while I still play this game.

Aside from simply getting better at the game, do you have any tips for speeding up solos?

Spawn nuke with Grenades.

Asari Vanguard is one of the best solo classes in the game.

Armoured compartments. Use rockets to nuke spawns on waves 7, 8 and 9.

[tMc Tallgeese]

Salarian Infiltrator with either a Widow, BW, or Indra. Play on Hydra, Ghost, Giant, or Dagger.

Geth Trooper with GPS. Fitness-less build against Reapers on Glacier (should be 18-20 min)

N7 Shadow with Acolyte and Hurricane (if not so good w/Acolyte) against Cerberus on White.

Human Engineer against Reapers or Geth.

Valkyrie against Cerberus or Reapers (20 min roughly).

Volus Adept on Jade. Use multi-level to divide and conquer.


Those are the ones I've done, but I'm sure you'll get your time down. Good luck. Post your progress.

Serious reply, assuming you won't nuke spawns with missiles, try to come up with setups that can chew the wave budget fast. For Cerberus, focusing on Phantoms and being efficient at killing them works the best. Of course that also means either bringing a anti-phantom weapon or being a cyborg (stupid on host DR).

Leading enemies to choke points where you can manage to kill several without having to kite helps too.

My best time outside of Glacier is 27:59 on Giant against Cerberus with the Geth Trooper (no flamer build, Javelin/GPS with Phasic ammo), didn't nuke any spawns on that game and the objectives weren't that great, so I guess it could've been faster.

Grenade classes obviously work good too. Run around from spawn to spawn nuking the hell out of them. I like the Batsol for that a lot.

Same here. Yesterday, for instance. I got 36ish on ghost against collectors with my FQE. Not sure how to shave off over 10mins... =S

Edit - maybe going U/U isn't helping..

On Topic: don't solo against reapers unless you're a biotic class. And kiss goodbye to speedruns if you're fighting collectors.

Geth / Cerberus are the usual candidates for speedruns.

You just have to know the spawns and how to do a good crowd control, kill lot of enemies at once like if they were insects.

Armored compartments is not needed because I do solo speedruns since long before that gear came out.



Cool is the fact that most of people who will post on this thread won't have any idea of what they will sugest you I'm really willing to read those just for teh lulz.

AV with extra thermal clip packs (not sure of the exact name of the gear that provides it), on a "grenade map". Specc 4 into stasis if you play against Cerberus, 4 into fitness, max out everything else, and you're golden. You can check out my build in my HQ.

There's a difference between being solo and alone.  So very alone.

And I'm not just being cheeky. Understand how to quickly deplete wave budgets, by focusing on the easy to kill mobs and ignoring bosses. If you're playing Cerb, wiping out Phantoms will clear a wave very vast. Learning how to kite well, not just run away. While you do occasionally need to run on a Solo, every minute you spend not killing is a minute longer the game lasts.

And you need to get a little lucky with objectives. A good escort or pizza delivery is going to speed the game up a ton versus getting a bad hack, multiple assassinations or multiple 4-caps.

The basics of depleting the wave budget, I know.  

Unfortunately, the last 3 solo attempts have gotten me devices on Glacier vs. Reapers.

On the topic of spawn nuking to speed things up. What the hell is up with nuking a spawn with a rocket and all the bosses survive with some health left? How long does the spawn DR last? I sometimes nuke spawns in pugs and half the time they survive.
