Bottom line, if you can't get under 20-25 minutes on Glacier without using armored compartments then you are doing it wrong.

Yeah, this was a 'clever use of game mechanics' run.Zjarcal wrote...

After a month away from trying to improve my solo time, I decided to try another GI solo on Glacier, this time with the Claymore. I was able to succeed at my original goal in this thread (solo in under 25 minutes.) I got it on video as well:
Link
This was again Reapers/Glacier
Objectives were escort/pizza/hack
Equipment: Armored Compartments/AP IV/Cyclonic IV/Rail III
Final Time: 24:46
I will probably try to get under 20 at some point but it seems like I will need to solo vs. Cerberus to improve much on the present time, and I hate playing cerberus.
wth was going on with the wave 10 hack? That was very strange
That's the glitch where if you get out of the circle quickly after activating it, the hack will keep progressing even if you're outside of the circle.

This. Try to control and get at least one good spawn or try to cluster the elites together and rocket to exhaust the wave budget quicker.llandwynwyn wrote...

Even if it's "cheating" I prefer my kroguard glacier in 24 minutes without clever use of game mechanics.ISHYGDDT wrote...

Eh, did that too yesterday to blow off some steam. Time was 23:50, but I don't rate Kroguard solos.Cohen le Barbare wrote...

Spawn nuke with Grenades.
Asari Vanguard is one of the best solo classes in the game.
She was my original fave. I haven't played her in a while. What armaments do you give her?

I don't think Ashen's going to respond, but the Talon works pretty well on her in my experience.

General tips:
1. Kiting is for scrubs. When you kite, you aren't killing. There is a set amount of wave budget i.e. killing that you have to do per wave. All that kiting does is add minutes. If you need to take a breather because you've overexerted yourself, you should probably go outside and take a walk, fatty.
2. Kill lots of enemies at the same time. There is a threshold around 5000 damage below which all human-sized enemies lie. If you have an AOE ability that can be spammed on a spawn that does this amount of damage in a couple cast e.g. two lift grenades, your time will be much quicker.
3. Focus on high-spawn value per hitpoint targets: the classic example is the phantom which is worth 8/10 of an Atlas but has only ~4000 hitpoints. Any build you take should specifically have a hard counter to this units on-host DR since it is so valuable. An example in Reapers are Brutes and Ravagers if you have an anti-armor ability.
Faction Specific:
Reapers:
1. Have enough DPS to quickly stop Banshees from charging, otherwise you are forced into a kiting situation
2. The only classes that speedrun reapers well are those specifically with anti-armor abilities: inferno grenades, flamer, warp/incendiary etc or really high single target DPS e.g. GI.
3. Assuming 2. Brutes and Ravagers are the priority targets since they neither regenerate part of their health nor do they have the ability to evade damage.
Geth:
1. Nearly all Geth units travel at nearly the same and constant speed, this allows you to funnel them very efficiently.
2. There aren't really preferred targets since all units except the basic trooper and the geth prime are worth the same amount, and die approximately equally quickly.
Cerberus.
1. Enemy prioritization is most important vs. Cerberus. On waves 4,7,8,9 you should be looking for the dragoons and phantoms before anything else. Run past everything else until they stop spawning.
2. To that end, take something that can deal with phantoms as efficiently as possible. for instance a GI with a GPS can one-shot them.
3. Depending on whether you are using a high single-target DPS character or not, it may be better for you to save your missiles until the *end* of the wave and nuke the 2 atlases instead of the initial spawn. This requires you to be mindful of both when the wave is ending and ideally to kite the atlases together. I employ this strategy pretty well in the video linked in my sig.
Collectors.
