There were actually only two moments where I had some real issues - fighting Sith Master and twilek lady on Korriban (poisoned twilek, did NOT poison Master) and Malak himself.
I'm not saying my strategy is perfect, and only possible. But there are very little info on such "atypical" PTs, so (may be) someone will find it usefull.
classes: scout(8)-sentinel(12)
Side: light
Weapons: Big Z's upgradable bowcaster is an obvious one, untill you get Jamoh Hogra's Carabine ( which was after Korriban, my second planet of choice, first was Tatooine) There's nothing better.
Armor: as I said, I wanted to be as "non-jedi" as possible, so I kept my upgraded light armor right untill Qel-Droma Robes from Korriban (as I said - my second planet of choice). Note, however, that wearing lights restricts you from most of force buffs, Force Speed included, and that one is highly recommended. You can still heal in armors and cast offencive spells. It's up to you.
Party: Carth + Mission replaced with Carth (because yes, me likes Carth, problem?) + melee dual-weapon Canderous for keeping things at some distance. Carth was dual blasters specced.
Force&feats: Stasis and stun droids are your must-have-asap. You may or may not wish to heal the party ( I healed). Force speed combines with Rapid shot, which gives you some extra shots per round. Power blast is more situational, it's good for opening burst damage or when you need to finish someone. But it's not so good for rootine blasting. Even if you have stasis and stun for droinds - you may wish to get force push\\wirlwind\\wave. It helps keeping distance and it also does some damage and slows your enemy. Bosses included. Buffs like master valor are always nice to have.
Skills: Hard to say, because depends on preferences and playstyle. You may wish to go stealthy or work with mines etc. Treat injury is usefull for all. Other than this - as I said, it depends. I played computer-tech specialist with some persuade.
My planets order and few comments on each:
0. Dantooine. Mandalorian boss was somewhat hard. He has some support, and you're not so good at Force at that moment. I'd suggest doing him only after you complete your trials and get your first jedi class levels. With no force heal and force CC - it'd be very painfull. Probably, doing him right before you leave the planet is a good idea.
Guardian droids in ruins -it's not you, it's they are almost immune to all sorts of energy damage( and lightsaber is also energy). Use vibroblades - the fastest way.
1.Tatooine. No problems at all (if only I was prepared for an ambush at speeders crashsite...). Calo Nord did not seem to be a trouble - unlike many other games you can use your single-target CC on several mobs. So - some CC, some heal and some focus-fire did good. Note- I chose peace for sand people, so I can not comment on possible dark-side fights.
2. Korriban. Because...well, let's say it was personal.
It's a veeery good idea to have at least 1 tier of stun droid there ( in case you missed it, and the more - the better). I had it, and most of the tombs were much like target practice. Big thing in caves was not immune to stasis. And once you sneak by two terentateks from last tomb (sith trials) - you can safely blast them from behind the door - they can't follow you into the room.
As I already mentioned - final combat may be tricky, depending on your PT. You may have to fight 2 weakened siths, 1 weakened sith of your choice or 2 siths at full health and strenght. You may also fight them by one or two at once. If you're dark yo may not be forced into both fights. Well, As I said - I followed the light. I honestly tried fighting two at once- but I'm not sure it was even doable ( not on my level and side, at least). I knew that apprentice girl was poisoned ( poor traitor....), but she helped me to deal with her master. He's the toughtest of two. And even with her help it took me some time to figure the way. First - I had to use the sword. No, not that one! Poison blade from a tomb. Poisoned targets are good. I know I could use poison grenade or something, but I chose this way. Then - some stasis, kiting and few grenades. He's not 100% immune to stasis (which is good), but he's rather resistant. Poisoned twilek was an easy one, and she was even less resistant to stasis.
3. Manaan. Have no idea, why. Just because? Anyway, I can not recall a single problem during this planet. Sith base is easy if you hack terminals (so is any other place with possible hacks). If you don't - well, nothing new here - CC, tank and shoot. Rinse&repeat.
3.5 well...no one asked me before going there, right? Leviathan. I can't comment on rescue mission, you may have your own preferences here. But I picked Juhani. It was fast and easy. If you use right terminals - a big droid will take care about many siths instead of you. I'm not sure it's a good idea to storm barracks directly with your party. Fighting with Saul is not hard, once you pick right enemy priority. If you ask me - troopers and their grenades are the worst. Jedis can be put into stasis, then - get rid of troopers. Saul comes last.
Mini-Malak bothered me with his bugs much worse than with his fight. That's where I had to turn full-screen off, it crashed something like 10 times in a row... He was surprised to see Revan with a rifle, I guess...
4. Kashyk - was a walk in a park. Or better say - forest. All those creatures are literally stunned with your mass stasis force skills. All your fighters wear best weapons and armors. Nothing to mention, really. A little rest before the storm.
5. Unknown World. Nothing serious. The One is easy. Temple is also easy ( especially if you use terminals). There is a Sith Master somewhere inside. He hits hard, to be honest. But 3 jedis are better anyway (wish I had an option to bring my common party instead). Especially - if one of them is armed with a blaster rifle. 8P
Bastila. I took her down easy enough. No lightsabers involved.
6. Star Forge. Waves. I mean...WAVES, a lot of them. So - make sure you save often and keep your force bar at max before advancing any bit further. Also keep in mind, that those waves do not care that you cleared previous area, mobs come from all sides - keep your eyes open. Use your CC as smart as you can, do not waste group stasis on a single standing mob. All of them may pass save chaeck from time to time, but no one is immune. Also - I hope you got both stasis and stun droid at max at this point. Do not hesitate to use grenades as well. Keep in mind - troopers are all ranged and also have grenades.
Bastila( I was light, remember?) - harder, than in temple, but yet - doable. Force wave was handy there, but she's either highly resistant or immune to stasis.
Malak. Finaly. First - make sure you got your best shields and alacrity stims. Same as Bastila I doubt you'll be lucky to lock him into stasis, but you may ( and should) try force wave to keep him away. It works. Most of the time, but don't make it your final hope.
Very main thing to remember - you CAN crush his living "medpacks" with your light-sided "stun droid". It's not that obvious (and, actually "true scoundrel guide" says you can not crush them and suggests letting him heal through all of them) And you'd better do it asap after first cut scene. Run, crush capsules and from time to time shoot Malak. If he's closing - force wave him away, and keep running. Medpacks are situational.
YES, he does have deflection with his lightsaber..that did not help him, trust me. You may wish to use regular attacks or powershots here instead of rapid shot, because even 3rd rapid shot rank suffers -1 to attack. So - you shoot faster, but hit less and he's hard enough to hit even without any penalties. Powerblast may be good, but it's SLOW. I ended up using regular shots. Easy to run, easy to shoot, and you can time your movements.
Adhesive grenades are your best friends once you're finished with Malak's life support. And if you got some thermal detonators - feel free to use them as well. He becomes a mortal being with just one healthbar for you to empty. Just make sure you do not glue yourself to the floor. Best time to throw grenades - when he does some ranged attack. Try keeping your shields and alacrity stims on. That's it. Revan with a blaster rifle. Malak never saw it coming!
