Ummm, so I just finished my 1st Mass Effect playthrough ever. I have some questions

I was worried the gameplay would be too old but its actually pretty fun. Its fast paced and the powers are pretty cool. When I checked if my saves were transferring on the PS3 I started ME2 and it really feels slow in comparision.Holy crap at the recycled envioroments not even DA2 felt that bad IMO.
I do feel the main plot was kinda short.
The story was great if somewhat a little impersonal. I was surprised on how little you can talk with your teammates when compared to ME2. Story felt somewhat ... not clear at some points though and wanted to ask some questions to see if you guys can clarify it to me.
The whole chain of events in Noveria seems somewhat unclear, like its missing stuff(or maybe I missed stuff.). Captain Baldy (Rentola I think his name was?) told me Benezia was on the hot labs. I decided to explore first before going back, made some quests in the labs made a cure and got attacked by the Asari scientist and the Volus scientists told me to a backdoor, I got access and investigated and ran into Benezia who was not even surprised by me arriving without notice. Hell she even acted and if she knew me. Whatever. It just seems like that came out of nowhere, sure the guards were acting strange but them working for Benezia feels like it came out from nowhere, especially since the Asari commando kills one of them and you can even report it
After Virmire how did the council(and apparently me) get to the conclusion that Saren was going to attack the Citadel? I mean I just destroyed his army building facility, if anything he was on the run. Whatever, agan it feels as if there was meant to be something more.
Now, with that I want to share my 1st build. I derped it a lot more but I think I learned a lot.
Level 60 Engineer
Pistol 12
Armor 12
Decryption 9
Hacking 12
Electronics 09
Damping 12
1st Aid 5
Medicine 6
Operative 12
Charm 6
Spectre 6
On hindsight I would have not invested anything in charm(I really feel you don´t miss too much and it can be maxed on replays anyways).
No or maybe just 3 points in armor(1% increments are just sad and IMO there is not uch of a difference from 30% shield recovery to 50%)With that I could have maxed out medicine or something more useful. Will take note of that for my next playthrough.
Other than that I had a great time with the game and I definitively plan on playing it a whole lot more, after I imprt my level 60 engineer through mass effect 2 and I will finally be able to play ME3.
Other than that my final thoughts on my playthrough:
-Tech powers feel weak as hell, if they are supposed to debuff and disorient/disable enemies they are not that great. I think its because their radius is kinds small. I do think they are great against bosses but Biotics are much better. I liked the ME2 engineer much more.
-It took me until my 3rd (current)playthrough to realize you have to manually detonate your grenades.
-Putting your powers into mine form is a genius idea too bad that the tech powers are not so hot.
-So far Insanity has been more annoying that difficult. Inmunity is such a stupid power for both the player and enemies. Its still pretty easy though.
-The cover system is buggy as hell, thankfully its not that needed.
-While I think he is a great character I think Wrex is kinda of a subpar Biotic, even Kaidan felt more useful. As a soldier he is fine but I wish he had more useful biotics.
-Ashley is a religious Zealot? No way man, I kinda lost some respect for my friend that told me this . She is not even racist at all.
-Garrus is so adorable in this game, he really looks up to shephard, he and Jenkings would have been best pals.
-Kaidan is..kinda boring. I don´t dislike him, I like him but I really feel he should have opened more.
-On my 1st playthough ever my squad was Liara and Ashley. Ashley told me to save the council Liara told me to leave them to die lol.
-Liara is way different from the Liara in ME2 I like the more grown up Liara in ME2 more. ME1 Liara felt like it was just pandering to the cute crowd.
My major decisions were:
-Paragon interactions()
-Spacer/War hero
-Save Wrex(He was part of the team and was easy to talk down)
-Save Rachni queen(Really, it was not my place to decide to doom an entire race to extinction. Wish there could have been a let the council decide)
-Kaidan went with the Salarians(he is an officer and I figured his tech and biotic abilities would help with the distraction) he was left to die in the AA tower. Edward Shephard just couldn´t risk the bomb not going off and Kaidan said they could hold on a little more
-Saved the Council, figured out leaving the galaxy leaderless would lead to instability.
-Udina as the councilor, soldiers should be on the battlefield and Udina seemed to be more willing to work together with the council(I really feel Udina should have been the more Paragon choice tbh)
- I really liked Udina, he may be a politician but he really seemed to have the interests of humanity in mind. The ME2 comic and ME2 made him seem like a corrupt scumbag.
My fav characters in order:
Kaidan
Wrex
Tali
Udina
Ashley
Kaidan
Corpseral Jenkings(I really wish I could have taken him as my protege)

Also yeh insanity is annoying sometimes, I downloaded some saves to unlock it I dont know why they do crap like that, hardest difficulty always, but its a little stupid shooting someone with 5 sniper rounds...
I just used console commands to add all charm and intimidate so I have every dialogue option, I dont care if its cheating I want options, I dont even use the charm option hardly. Also cheated for mako sections with the geth super gun and 10x speed because the mako is annoying as crap. You can use the speed mod with the mako to fire the tank shots fast too if you position correctly, mako is... ugh I hate it.
I dont care if Wrex is "weak" all the characters are pretty weak and I dont need them really. Wrex makes a decent tank early-mid game.
Lol ashley is religious so shes a zealot, friends probably an athiest or liberal b/c they have massively warped view of things. And yeh dealing with aliens doesnt involve RACISM and is entirely different, ask the rachni (oh wait). Holy crap is we ever meet aliens these people spouting racism are gonna be the morons on top of the buildings with signs welcoming aliens from independence day....
I disregard council, first time I didnt take their calls, now I just take them to talk crap because they hate humans. I havent got to them yet on my replay but I don't know they all seem to have come around except the turian, why cant Garrus be up there (he would hate it actually, hes way too awesome to deal with politics and red tape).

I do think Wrex is a good soldier but a terrible biotic.
I didn´t mind the Mako so much, The only thing that bothers me is that you feel more fragile when inside the Mako. The Mako should have leveled up with you lol

So supposing I played once through ME1, ME2 and M3 with the same character, can I start a new game in ME1 with my earlier character and carry him forward to ME2? If I do this, can I select a new origin story and class and new facial features for the new game + Shepard?

You have to complete a playthrough on Veteran to unlock Hardcore, and complete a playthrough on Hardcore to unlock Insanity.LineHolder wrote...
You have to play twice to unlock the hardest difficulty?
Note that you must set/change the difficulty before landing on Eden Prime and then never change the difficulty for it to count.

Not sure I quite understand this question.
You cannot import an ME3 character into ME1 or ME2.
You can start a new ME1 game with an ME1 character that completed the story (you cannot start a new ME1 game with a character that is partway through the story). You cannot change anything about the character that you import.
You can import an ME1 Shepard into ME2. Your import is locked into whatever story choices you made in ME1, including gender and background. However, you can change your class and facial features.
You can start a new ME2 game with an ME2 character. You cannot change any story choices you made in ME1, including gender and background. You cannot change your class or bonus weapon (and you will not be able to choose another bonus weapon on the Collector Ship; only one bonus weapon per Shepard without modding). You may be able to change your facial features but I forget if you can or not; I think you can.
You can import an ME2 character into ME3. Your import is locked into whatever story choices you made in ME1 and ME2, incuding gender and background. However, you can change your class and facial features.

This is so I can start a new trilogy playthrough using the XP I gained the first time around. And so that I can create a new character with different background and abilities ...

No I meant that once I finish the first trilogy playthrough can I start over by carrying over my ME1 experience and money into a new character with new background and class?

I believe I answered this already, but essentially the answer is No. Without modding, it is impossible to start a new game with the money and XP gained in a previous playthrough, but with a new class and background.

Independence Day reference *high five*
I also might do that next time. I hate having to "level up" to use certain dialogue options. Let me be a Paragon/Renegade on my own, thanks. And the Mako only got annoying after 50 hours of playing (spent 70 hours total on my one playthrough). Granted, I just used the maps on the Mass Effect wiki, no mods/speed boosts.

Also, mass effect relay travel is near instantaneous. How did the Normandy, the Geth/geth fleet, and Sovereign make it back to the Citadel at nearly the same time as Saren when they were just orbiting Ilos? The Conduit looked like it could only transport people (and the Mako, lol).
Saren and your Mako go through the conduit, Sovereign and the Geth ships as well as the Normandy use the normal relay. After they have arrived (Sovereign and the Geth) have arrived, Saren uses the Citadel controls to shut out the Alliance fleet by disabling the relays and the other Council fleet by closing the Citadel. The conduit is necessary to give Saren access to these controls.
Still, it doesn't make that much sense. Sovereign could have just told Saren to activate the Citadel relay when he was still a Spectre and had access to the Citadel.

The way I look at it, the conduit has to be activated to activate the controls, if memory serves it all has something to do with the keepers too. In other words, no conduit, no extra controls to give sovereign control of the citadel.
