I know that the CSMG has some sort of Armor Damage bonus, but I'm not sure how it actually works. I was wondering both how it worked and if the bonus made the EB a viable choice over the HVB.

I think it has a 1.5 damage multiplier versus armor.

((Base damage *1 + sum of weapon bonuses) - armour DR) *1.5

Similar to the typhoon, it means you can lose 75 damage per shot instead of the usual 50, so piercing or HVB is a requirement for gold.

But yeah, its multiplicative to total damage after all additive bonuses have been applied meaning armour DR has been deducted with the multiplier.

Editted for wording.

Actually, I found out that the CSMG X has basically the same DPS as a Harrier X vs armor :wizard:

Even as a huge CSMG fan I was shocked.

That is what I figured. It's weird about how armor is a damage per shot DR, but armor damage bonuses are multiplicative by percentage.

I don't see how the CSMG gets so much hate, it's darn good.

It's done so that armour more harshly affects faster firing guns that have a lower damage per shot.

Shield gate was supposed to be the thing that harshly affects slow firing guns, but pellet based weapons ended up breaking that pretty good.

At low levels it doesn't have enough ammo. At X is perfect, to the point that I've stopped using my other smgs (except the eagle). :pinched:

Because at lower levels, its clip size is crippling.

It worked well in ME2, but then the rapid fire weapons were much better.
