In DA:O, it was easy, just having walking bomb was enough to get you covered. But in this game, it's much more difficult. Any non-physical damage results in no blood, which rules out most mage staffs/staves close range attacks causing it because most have elemental damage, and the few ones with pure physical damage are never the best. Walking bomb no longer bloodies you.
So how? Does any blood magic spell cause blood on you? Or any good mage weapons with an augment slot that I can put a physical damage rune on? Anyway to cover me?
I know, wierd thread, but I really like getting bloody in this series.
Anyway to get bloody as a mage?

If your mage (or ranged archeer) is in close proximity to someone being killed or is injured near the end of the fight, I think they'll get some blood on them.
I think. It's just a general trend I've observed, not an absolute fact.

No, you're wrong. I've tried fighting right in the thick of it alongside the warriors, not a drop gets on me. Only having a physical damaging weapon and hitting enemies in melee range causes it so far.

Hitting people with the big stick in your hand, also gets you messy.
I always end up hitting people with my staff, so I usually end up bloody.
