How likely is it that we will be able to customize armor, weapons, personal appearance (a la Mirror of Transformation), etc....

Personally, I'd really love sort of option where items came with a default option (for the player only in the case of armor, most likely) but the actual model could be adjusted for weapons adn armor based on player choice and it has no effect on the items' efficiency. Granted, there'd be some armors and things you owuld want to have unique appearnaces (like the Champiion armor set or the Key from Legacy), but I'd still like it for more generic looking items. Then I could have mage pants whenever I wanted. I literally frown in sadness when I find robes that have a better armor rating than anything else I have, but I don't want to put on a dress.

I don't know about a full fledged appearance system like most MMOs have these days but changing armor color would be welcome, spent a lot of time looking like a clown in the other two games!

Did anybody play The Last Story? I thought the customization of the characters armor was really neat.

You had upper and lower pieces (you could mix and match) that you upgraded through out the game. As you upgraded you would gain extra pieces of armor on whatever you were wearing, purely cosmetic of course, but if you didn't like something you gained (like ewwww those shoulder pads I unlocked at level 5 are hideous) all you had to do was click it off, you were still wearing it, it just didn't show on the character. Of course as you upgraded the stats increased, it wasn't just a cosmetic thing. This allowed you to choose a look for each character and just upgrade it (and as I said it would cosmetically change) rather than changing sets all the time. Or unlike DA2 where you upgraded it but it didn't show.

There were also various dye colors, which unlocked like five shades of whatever color. So if you buy red, you get five different shades of it.
