I don't see how any affects the playthroughs. In both cases, Nilfgaard invades and reks everything.
Only that Dwarven city of theirs survives, from what I remember- but I doubt you'll be visiting it.

Yeah, I doubt the saves are gonna affect too much. Mostly just references, I think.
Besides, the game doesn't come out for the Xbox 360 and PS3, so I guess the console people won't even be able to import at all.
Completed my Iorveth playthrough this morning. I really enjoyed, I only prefer the Roche path slighty more.
But I'm definitely gonna import both playthroughs to see how it it will affect The Witcher 3
Is save importing confirmed?
Well, Let's agree to disagree. And I don't understand how that's relevant with your claim that all characters that Follow Geralt are irrelevant to the plot. The most interesting thing about Iorveth is the Kakashi Sensei eye cover.
And his dragon romance.
Broche was a better companion then any DA companion. Just because you can't have sex with him does not devalue him at all.
Is save importing confirmed?
Eh, good question actually! I'm assuming it will happen, but I realize now that I have never seen it actually beign confirmed,
If the save importing is anything like TW>TW2, I don't care.
Spoiler
I agree hence the "probably not." Still, it would have been nice.

They said they're going to do it, but I don't invest much in save game imports. Give me some gear and a few extra orens and I'm happy.

Kinda sad how gear importing was more consistent then choices in importing.
Give me my Dark Mode Act 3 gear.
I'm happy.

Import of save files is supported on PC and (possibly) on Xbox. Not on PS. Non the less every version (PC, Xbox, PS) will have a Mass Effect-like section where you can choose which choices you made in TW2 (no TW1 save impact as far as I know).
From a recent interview. They also stated that the decisions we took in TW2 will have an impact. I am conservative in this one, not a big problem for me.
I also wonder how the imports will work. I don't think it will really have large impact on Northen Kingdoms. Temeria probably gets taken by Nilfgaard no matter what considering Geralt & Emhyr are talking in Vizima's castle. I really wonder what happens to Kaedwen, if you decide to
I'm actually more hoping the imports will effect characters return. I was really happy to see Siegfried again in W2.
I assume we are going to see Letho, considering they already decided to show him in the trailer.
Hopefully if characters like Roche come back, how close Geralt and him where close are imported properly. It really bugged me that in TW when I helped the order Zoltan hated my guts yet in TW2 he was all IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU MY FRIEND. It was pretty dam jarring.
I'm hoping the import is somewhat similar to the "lack there of" from TW1, personally, I found it to be less of a mess. But I'm interested in a lot of aspects from TW2
Man, I'm so hyped. Hopefully it kicks ass.
Wow you must have skipped so many sidequests... Both games took me at least twice as much.
Anyways this website is great if you wanna know how long it takes to finish a game:

I can do a complete pt of TW2 in 30 hours....
TW2 took me about 50 hours, while the first took about 70 I believe. It all depends.

I couldn't stand Roche. But then again he's precisely the sort of person I can't tolerate IRL.
But... he saves you!
...twice!
I don't like Roche, but I respect him. Personally, I prefer Iorveth's path and that story arc in general, but Roche would still be a valuable asset for Geralt in TW3.
Roche is quite the bro, apart from his occasional bursts of anger, but even those are quite amusing.. when you're not at the receiving end that is.
And if you are on the receiving end, you end up with your own balls shoved down your throat. :S
I love Roche. The bromance he and Geralt develop over the course of the story is awesome.

"Emhyr Var Emreis, spice merchant"
"A trader?"
"In spices!"
Yup, pretty much awesome written all over the sexy beast.
