I guess someone had to ask the inevitable question, will our decisions from the second game carry over to this one?

I'm curious about this too, but reading the Witcher website they put up a timeline of events from the past games to The Witcher 3 and put this up:

"May 1272
The war with Nilfgaard obliterated the old order. The North is engulfed in chaos, and marching armies leave a plague of  monsters in their wake. Geralt of Rivia once more treads the Witcher’s  Path."

So it seems like the war with Nilfgaard might be a convenient excuse to do some handwaving with respect to certain choices you might have made in TW2. Or the setting just might have Geralt be far enough away from places like Vergen to not have them factor into the story.

If we're going to be near Novigrad, thats a free city near or in Redania I think, so Radovid might play a role.

If you listen closley, you can hear KoP's inner-fanboy squeeing madly

Well it seems TW3 will be set in the West, but Temeria and Redania will likely be there so our choices should have an impact.

To me that timeline simply means: Everything has turned into **** as the war really begins and also that it took Nilfgaard this long to take the land shown to us in the outro cinematic.

I'll wait and see with the choices. I was impressed with the consequences of decisons throughout the game, but to be fair there was hand waving of my Witcher 1 import. They even pulled a Bioware and retconned character's death. I let Thaler get killed by De Wett but still got the messenger in Flotsam. "Message from Thaler." Uhhh, from the grave?
Also when you went neutral but spared Siegfried, you're still called the murderer of Siegfried in 2. So perhaps I should be a little less optimistic about this aspect. I'm still expecting the most epic game ever though.

So, I guess this means I have to finally pick up The Witcher 2.

QTE's are scrapped? That'd be great, but I saw info saying they were considering them. I hope not.

Can't be sure, but I think that what they don't want to do again is cutscene stuff like "repeatedly click to hack off limb".

I don't hate cutscenes or even QTE, but it is obviously better when combat is so fluid, varied and fun that there's no need for that stuff.

Well, I kind of give them a pass on that, since save importing wasn't a planned feature when they designed TW1. It is a decent attempt to let people keep playing their Geralts, and for some choices it works; better than nothing.

Yea I think it's likely we will see Radovid again. Although if Temeria is overrun, then the Anais choice won't likely have a big impact in the game itself (unless something drastic happens), but might have for the post-war environment.

An open world game with branching narratives?

That'll certainly be unique and revolutionary.

From what I understood, there will be branching narratives within seperate storylines. So not to the same extent as TW2, which has a branching narrative for the entire story. But still more than TW1.

Hopefully there's quests relating to the Order whether in Redania or outside of it. They have been and always will be my Geralt's homies. :)

 Picture this.

Geralt walks into the main Redanian military camp. Sees Radovid, who greets him courteously, and tells him that he could aid Geralt in his quest, if he provides a small service. Geralt relunctantly accepts after Radovid reassures him that he won't be  alone.

Geralt turns around, to see Siegfried and Roche in Redanian uniform as companions :o

I tend to give them a pass as well. I'm not extremely bothered by it, but it does raise the question of how TW3 will handle it all.:) The journal entry about Thaler did update with his death, and the only thing they would have had to do in TW2 was leave the messenger in Flotsam out. And if the game recognizes that Siegfried is alive when sided with the Order, I don't quite understand why it treats him as dead by default when Geralt remained neutral but spared him. But these are pretty minor complaints about a game that raised my standard significantly.

Hahaha

Seriously, Roche and Siegfried would make for hilarious comrade in arms. Roche in all his angst and cursing, next to the serene and polite Siegfried.

Considering that Siegfried would be a zombie (like Thaler, haha), I'd say very surprised. ;)

At the end it looks they´ll only end with Geralt´s story, not with the world. Hey, still 3000 years to go before the Ice Age.

Maybe we'll be able to play as an elf in a future game then.:o I'd be fine with playing Iorveth.:innocent:

They don't necessarily have to end Geralt's story either.

If anyone remembers, Ratchet&Clank series has 2 trilogies

It both saddens and gladdens me that we will not have an huge impact on the Scoi'atle (yeah I butchered the name, it's 12am, sorry.) It's great that Geralt isn't just another RPG character that solves that world's problems; but it sucks that I've grown attached to Iorveth so much that I really want to give the elves a bit of a break.
