Did you buy Witcher 2 Entropic?

I did not. Ran out of time (I don't usually keep much on my Steam account). I should have plenty of time to get it though, later on.

Do you think it will be necessary for TW3? To understand the plot, world, etc?

Most likely considering just how fleshed out the politics are in Witcher 2. Then there is also the two different Act II which offer not only a different perspective on the same characters but introduce new ones as well. The story also gets very complex and I'm thinking skipping 2 and going straight into 3 will leave people a bit confused. It also helps that Witcher 2 is a fun game.

Act 3 is also a bit diffrent in terms you do get diffrent quest even if it does take place in the same overall area where in act 2 many places where cut off depedning on your faction you went with. Ah I really feel like playing TW+TW2 again.

And then Tywin was graced with the most humiliating death of all time.

Let´s hope nobody here is just watching the TV show. But hey, Tywin worked very hard to end as he did. Almost cheered. The came the epilogue...

Shhh, no spoilers. KoP's only on book 2 xD (cool blog btw.)

Finished all the books a long time ago :)

Ahh good. I can use all the **** gold jokes I want then :P

That's a yes. Especially the Witcher 2. If CDPR play their cards right, we'll all have a slightly different North in the end. Once again, however, yes. The Witcher 2's plot is complex and riddled with politics; even if CDPR try to reference things via a 'canon' TW2, it won't be the same.

The game is on sale a lot of times, so I'd go for it soon. Of course, it deserves the full price it has. But if it's on sale, why the **** not?

Did gamers really whine about the "difficulty" of the tutorial? Really?

When the game first came out on PC and before it was patched at all, the prologue was pretty tough. Partly because the game just dropped you in to fend for yourself and partly because I'm pretty sure they tweaked aspects of the combat to make things more forgiving, like with blocking. I remember dying a ton in the prologue trying to kill that group of soldiers at the ballista.

TW2 was actually pretty tough when it was first released and subsequent patches made it a good deal easier.

I died around 20 times in the vanilla prologue. It was damn tough. The thing is, the game had pop-up tutorial panels and a journal that explained everthing just fine, but most reviewers didn't even realize that.

Honestly, i think it'd be essential. So many characters were introduced in TW2, and so many plot lines were left unresolved at the end.

You can skip TW1, as it's very much self contained (And imo, not even close to TW2 in quality), but i definitely feel like you'd be lost without playing TW2.

I'm most excited about the open world structure and the possibility of actually monster hunting this time. Open world gives off the implication that there won't be any branching story.

It wasn't that - it was realizing which way the skills went with your style. For example, rolling + quen was much more effective for me than blocking.

I'm really hoping they give the hardest setting a big difficulty bump. Maybe 25%. After Dark Souls, things aren't the same for me anymore.

Is it getting overlooked they said the ending is going to have a big twist? The whole trilogy...with a big twist. Hopefully they nail it. I think they mentioned it in a video interview with Game Informer magazine.

So instead of adding to their strengths CDPR is trying to make a Skyrim clone. I don't like this one bit.

Why do many people assume that adapting an open world structure in an RPG is a bad thing?

If they do it he was always dead...that's pretty lame, actually. Not your idea...the concept of their writing. Hope not.

So far they seem to be going with Ciri and the unicorn managing to revive him at the end of Lady of the Lake, so I hope not. Even if it´s a much darker setting, ME3 proved beyond a doubt shocking swerves don´t work at all.

And if Ciri appears and is a possible LI I´m going to puke.

There are new videos from the Gi coverage. In one of them, The Story of TW3" the devs pretty much confirmed the presence of Roche and Iorveth, plus talking a bit about the relationship between Geralt and Triss.

For the info about Iorveth, Roche and Triss, check the second one, go at the end of the video, and choose "The sotry of the witcher 3" from the videos choice.

Why would they do that? She's practically his daughter.

They wouldn't, and if they did, it would be a bad move. Why? The Witcher gets accused of being a dudebro game far too much; this would just serve to fuel the fires.

They say this game will give you the best experience of being a witcher. I sure hope that means you can choose to complete quests without resorting to violence. I'd like a quest where you can help a cursed NPC like when Geralt cured Adda, King Foltest's daughter from being a striga.

I hope that too, though from the video I got the impression they were talking about the combat "feeling" of playing as a Witcher.

I wouldn´t have called that one without violence. But continue to explore the theme that some monsters only have the looks of such would be interesting.
