If it only took place in Skellige I would rip my hair out.

Why? You could kill all those look-alike Greyjoys :)

Chocies made in TW2 should have a big impact in TW3. If you killed Henselt, then Kaedwen should be in chaos in-game. It should be a whole difference experience then a pt where Henselt is alive. That's just one of many examples. one of my big issues with TW2 was importing from TW really only changed some dialog and gave us a few cameos.

Why do people expect more than this tbh?

TW2 did choices in an amazing way (the whole Act2, etc.), but importing from one game to the next would require them to basically do "an Act 2" on the entire Witcher 3.

Anyone who's expecting something like that is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Especially in a Skyrim-size map and an open-world game.

Triss and Geralt will start phsyically apart in TW3, apparently, whether they end up together romantically, will be up for the player (I assume there'll be a Triss v Yenn choice at some point).
I have no issues there. Nor do I expect Roche and Iorveth to have major roles (similar to Sigfried and Yaehvinn from TW1).

The ONLY thing I think CDPR has to pull something special out of their backside is the political situation and how to avoid your choices looking pointless - making them cosmetical but there is still better than not being there at all.

Fine for me, but people who need money and just want to play the main plots are going to complain about mandatory fetching quests.

Probably, but if the economy is anything like it was in TW2 that won't be a problem. You hardly ever even needed money in TW2

Mandatory yes, but if it's fun, there's no need to complain. What I heard sounded interesting, new and much better than just killing 10 monsters and be done with it.

Of course, this is going to be one of those things that is going to get boring the 10th time around; but it beats contracts any day.

Finished TW1 yesterday (or technically today, I suppose).

I still maintain that the plot is very jumbled, but I think it's a good plot. Just a couple questions.

Do we ever find out who Jaques De Aldersberg really is?

And, who was the Witcher at the end? I feel like it was Berengar, because he's the only one who's face I even vaguely remember, but I killed him...and is this plot twist explained in TW2?

TW2 will explain who that Witcher was.

There are strong hints.  I'm not sure if you want this spoiled, but it is a major twist that IMO makes the plot.  Big hint:  Geralt knows him well under another name, and helped make him who he is.  How Geralt dealt with him earlier in the game is reflected in the final dialogue.  It's really brilliantly done, but is indeed subtle.

And, who was the Witcher at the end? I feel like it was Berengar, because he's the only one who's face I even vaguely remember, but I killed him...and is this plot twist explained in TW2?

I'm not sure which part you mean here.  In the Ice Plains?  *snip*

Oh, now I know what that's about... the assassination epilogue, right?  Oh yes.  B)

I'm not sure which part you mean here.  In the Ice Plains?  The Ice Plains are a recap of, and demonstration of the consequences of, Geralt's actions throughout the game.  I don't remember if Berengar appears there or not.  If you mean earlier, on the island where the Lady of the Lake is, then yes that was Berengar.  AFAIK he has no bearing on Witcher 2.  I can't remember if Letho mentions him or not.

I think he's speaking about the Witcher in the outro.

Not really. He pretty much remains a mystery, as a person.

As a person yes, but his relevance as a plot point gets explained.

That it does, vaguely however. Though I'd hope there we'll get more out of him in the next installment. Maybe the school of the Viper members will have something to add. Not that he really is that great of an importance.

That's Alvin? Wow. I saw the connection, the necklace, but I doubt I ever could have made that leap.

And about the Witcher, alright. Thanks.

I thought the Jaques - Alvin thing was quite obvious. Jaques' dialogue even changes depending on what you tell Alvin during the Murky Waters chapter. ;)

Plus Jaques makes fun of Geralt being preachy, something that only peopel close to Geralt know that's one of Geralts traits. There's also the fact Jaques says "I know from a trustworthy source." A play on with words.

Triss also mentions that Alvin is capable of warping through space and time.

The sad thing about Jaques/Alvins death was he is one of the last(the other being Ciri) Source and also probably had elder blood(thoguh I don't think that is confirmed)

This is probably why I didn't catch it. I heard her say that, but I've never been comfortable with the concept of time travel so i probably subconsciously blocked it out.

I'll have to agree: usually, time-travel/paradox plots end up being a convoluted mess. In TW1, though, I got to laud the way it was carried out.

I am somewhat curious what became/becomes of the rest of the Kaer Morhen crew in general come Wild Hunt or prior to that, as it were. It is odd they never were mentioned in TW2...

This is something I hope TW3 addresses, ability to visit/go to Kaer Morhen again, and meet up with the other 3 surviving witchers.

I wonder if it wouldn't be lore-breaking or nonsensical to the plot to..uhmmm 'kidnap' kids and recruit them as Witchers. I mean, just one or two, perhaps some from major sidequests.

Well if I recall correctly, the Game Informer magazine stated that there will be expansion(s?) after the TW3 release, so there is always that.
