I'm really glad he said they wanted Geralt's movements to appear like he's dancing with his swordsmanship, which is how I always felt. If they can mix a bit of the visual flair of the 1st with the...I guess "realistic" appearance of the 2nd, that'd be sweet. Replacing the roll with something else is a good start as well.

I have no idea why people thought the 'roll' move was a bad decision. Sure, it isn't 'realistic' and it's very twitch-like, but ultimately, that's what the Witcher's combat is like. However, pirouettes are going to make things a lot harder.

Sweet. And I heard PS4 will allow resolution up to 4K, so my 1080P 50" Bravia in HD should handle like a champ :)

No matter how crappy a game or movie might be, a lightsaber fight makes everything better

The PS4 will not have 4k resolution for games. It'll have 4k resolution for non-games related things, like watching films or videos.

I hope they keep the same VA for Geralt. He's 'Meer'd' himself with the games. And by that, I mean he's getting better and better :-)

Because rolling that much in a fight is plain silly. It's also the fact that in cutscenes when Geralt fights, he never rolled. He did lbocking, dodging, sliding ect but never rolling around like a monkey.

His monotone-ish performance in TW1 was due to voice direction.

Yeah I figured as much. Either way, The Witcher 3 will look astounding for me. Leagues better then The Witcher 2 on max everything settings for pc. Of course, I will expect it'll still look better on the very, very high end PCs.

It never bothered me, it was as silly as getting shot multiple times and surviving. But as a game mechanic, I can see why people would call its imbalance. Spamming roll literally won the game for you xD

As for the 'monotone' voice... I think it suited Geralt. His sarcasm is awesome.

"My doppleganger was in Vizima, I have three of them." I was in tears with that one xD

I didn't find Geralt that monotone in TW2 compared to TW. While there was a few great parts it overall was very monotone where in TW2, Doug did a much better job. This is because of the voice direction was much better in TW2(except for the casting of Triss, just no.... Please either get back the original VA who did not make my ears bleed, get a voice actress who can act or just please don't have her in the game if CDP can't get a new voice actress. I like my ears thank you very much.)

From what I've read of the books so far (the two short story books and the first novel, working through the others) pirouette's are something Geralt does alot. I'm glad thats been added, what they are saying about combat so far sounds very promising.

Also he came across kind of monotone to me in the books, possibly from a combination of being translated from another language and him faking being emotionless. Monotone just seemed to be what fitted.

I wonder if it wouldn't be lore-breaking or nonsensical to the plot to..uhmmm 'kidnap' kids and recruit them as Witchers. I mean, just one or two, perhaps some from major sidequests.

Please, no.

Mr. House! :crying:

I thought someone of your tastes would enjoy sexy voices :D

It's all subjective of course. Some people find Janice's voice from FRIENDS sexy, all I have to say is

"OH. MY. GOD"

To the last of the Witchers, then! May they be relics of a more magical time.

The melancholy fits the setting, so I have no gripes with that. Just a suggestion.

Philipa's voice was sexy. Cynthia's voice was sexy. Triss's voice gives me flashback of my teacher putting her nails on the black board.:P

Triss' teenage groupie sounding voice and persona didn't do it for me. That's not waifu material.

Yes, I've been on the DA3 board for too long.
