Anyways, going bit OT here...
Thank you, KoP for the 5th part of Witcher politics, absolutely love the whole thing.

Glad you liked it ^_^

There will be a part 6 sometime soon. But it may be my last one, I am not sure yet.

That article was a great read. I'm 100% certain our choices will have mega impact, and it won't be a lie like the one we were told in Mass Effect 3. I mean the Rachni were in my game and I killed them all in the first game, too. Just lack of effort and EA tight deadline demands. My last EA game.

I just hope CDPR is up to the task of debugging. That is one heck of a lot of code, and lots of systems working together.

I'm gonna preorder this as soon as I can. I got The Witcher 2 EE used, and fell in love with it. Spending a full $60 this time.

Ypu're talking about importing choices with the rachni choice. TW > TW2 importing was worse. Better example would be the endings as it makses all choices mean little ;)

Still hoping for it centering around the Temerian protecorates and / or kingdom as a whole.

Okay, gonna install TW2 again soon. I've played all paths possible, but I really want to suck out ALL the political content I can find. So, any ideas/hints on how to do that?

Why not? Multiplayer makes being a predefined character who's a solitary monster hunter on a personal quest make that much more sense.

Geralt - P. diddy1
Triss - flaming tigress 234
Zoltan - bdass dwarf 000

The whole team can team up online to kill Nekkers n' sh*t, and pwn all sorts of Nilfgardian ass. Sounds like the perfect Witcher game to me...

Actually I'm OK for multiplayer especially if it is done right. But they are making probably one of the biggest games with many promises and they had all their hands full (I presume) adding multiplayer on the run would only slow/hinder them methinks. I just wish them to focus on SP and leave MP post launch. (like Arena)

Of course they can prove me wrong and release a perfect SP with a great MP but I remain skeptical at best till that time >_>

If it's done right, then it shouldn't be a problem. And what do I mean by 'done right.' Well, Baldur's Gate is the best example.

Full six-player co-op which doesn't mess with the main game at all. The same goes for IWD and IWDII. Better yet, they do something completley different to the side. An Arena with co-op. The SP Arena mode was popular for TW2, I don't see why it couldn't work for TW3.

Multiplayer is just unnecessary in the witcher though, especially in this trilogy. Perhaps in a future game with something like what you described, but no multiplayer for the sake of it and no MMOs...

Agreed. But I do see them making a co-op Arena if they're gonna do multiplayer. You esentially have co-op now anyway, but you hire NPCs instead.

I'm actually kind of excited for it, if only because I trust CD and am curious with what they do with it.

Not really. The difference between CDPR's CEO and EA is that Marcin Iwinski likes playing games.

And any Wild Hunt dlc will be absolutely free.

Could you imagine, everybody? If EA got its hands on The Witcher?

"Order now and get the super bigtime cool silver sword, Badasspwner, that makes it insanely easy to win from the get-go!"

Let's also composite a list of hypothetical TW3 microtransactions that would occur. Even though we won't get fleeced and it'll be in the game we pay for. Or too dumb to include. I will go first.

-for $6.99, unlock all crafting diagrams from the very beginning!

--for $2.99, have the ability to change Geralt's hair color! Even to super awesome colors like metallic orange ***

***requires activation and code only redeemable in U.S. Not valid with any other offer. Exclusions apply. Code only redeemable, one time, through gog and requires constant connection.

I thought Marcin was a dev? If he is both on the devteam and CEO well that's reassuring.

I preferred Witcher 1 over Witcher 2 because W1 was more about being a Witcher and W2 was more about playing politics, or at least that's how it made me feel. I prefer to walk the neutral path so politics doesn't interest me. Maybe W3 will return to Geralt being a Witcher rather than a politician. Time will tell.

Considering the main plot is divided into three aspects--Geralt's personal story, the Northern conflict and monster hunting--which have been stated can be ignored, I'm certain the game will please both parties.

That is to say how well they are executed. The political parts still have me worried.

I think it'll be a mixture of both; We still have to resolve's Geralt's own conflicts, that of Jennefer and all, and they aren't nearly as tangled into political brew as much as Geralt's story in TW2.

I do hope something closer to a personal story happens, though; I agree that TW1 felt more like the life of a Witcher more than a Witcher stuck in a political conflict. I guess we'll see.

You're forgetting, slim, that I actually liked The Witcher 1, haven't played 2 yet.

I'm not gloating, I just think it's...apt, that people who swore up and down that CDPR would never do something like that...suddenly find that CDPR is just like every other company out there.

Well, that's somewhat foreboding news.

Which people swore? It's been know for months CDPR was interested in multiplayer. There was an uproar when they hired (or looking to hire) a multiplayer programmer. This really shouldn't be a shock and I'm all for it.
