I felt this way also. I loved the towns in W1 and the random things people would say, and how they reacted to rain. Still enjoy replaying that game, and always gives me chills to watch the intro movie.Haplose wrote...
Town life was actually done very well in TW 1. Villages and the city felt very much alive in that game. TW 2 was a step back in this regard.
Plan to pre-order W3.

Money...... Lots. And Lots...... Of money.
for the standard 2 GB I'm seeing about 420 to 470 bucks for the OC and FTW editions that are 4 GB it looks like 510 to 550. Not bad, but still really pricey. I think a 660ti or 7950, 8 GB's or Ram and quad core CPU will be fine to run Witcher 3 at high settings on 1080p at 60ish frames. It will be better optimized than Witcher 2.
Wow.
...I may be getting this late. After next year's Black Friday.

Don't have the first? Either way post your impressions was fun reading Schumacher posts.
The Witcher 3 will have about 80 montsters Monsters monsters everywhere!

Keza McDonald from IGN said the game doesn't have quest markers right now, hopefully CDPR will keep it that way...
Evilore said that instant fast travel is only used to cities villages. You can fast travel from cave to village/city but you can't fast travel back to cave.
.
I like the sound of that and hope it stays that way.

I feel embarrassed for asking this but what does it mean "the game doesn't have quest markers" ?
That you are not shown where you are suppost to go when you receive quest or that you don't see people who offer you quests (mostly side quests i can assume) on the map?

No marks on your map to point you to your objective I imagine. Perhaps no compass. Everything is probably written in a journal - general information etc.
I guess since they still have over a year to go they didn't implement markers on your map that would simply show you were you need to go.

So basically it's similiar to previous games, you have to rely on map, mostly for killing monsters and collecting herbs. I really wonder if the "detective vision" will have something to do with the quests in the third game but i probably won't use it for searching since i love exploring.

Detective vision should die in a fire.
Wasn't there a basic version of this in TW2?

Morrowind had some of the worst (and few of the best) directions in RPGs. Come to think of it, few games were like Morrowind in that sense.
But then again, I haven't completed Ultima 7 or any of the Wizadry games (they are open world, no?)

I don't recall one. Or do you mean the effect the cat potion had?

Not a set vision, per se, but more like an optional "investigate surroundings" button you had with your medallion. Which is how I think TW3's "detective mode" will more-or-less work.
P.S some good stuff from rev3games. Some stuff we've heard, but he's given examples of new scenarios.

I stand corrected.
ETA: To be fair, the FO and Arcanum games had the locations right there, it wasn't so much as following but trying to find out where to go next. I suppose the Witcher 3 will work the same, I doubt we'll have:
"Turn left, round the black tree then head north-east until you reach a big boulder. Then east past the puddle with the frogs and once you're about 20 feet past it turn north-west until you see a wooden post. Oh and don't forget the hill ranges, you'll have to climb over them, if not, go into the openings and turn to the left... unless there's another hill and in that case, go to the right."
Keep in mind there are 50 large boulders, 80 black trees, 5 wooden posts and freaking 8 puddles with frogs in 'em xD
That's how Morrowind worked at its worst.

I wasn't entirely happy with TW1, but they improved the game a lot in later patches. It made me confident to pre-order TW2. That game didn't disappoint me either. Love it. No game is perfect, but I am really looking forward to TW3.
Yeah, TW1 NEEDS the EE to be played.
