Wow that last image looks like my modded Skyrim. Really looking forward to this game.

@Slimgrin indeed, The Witcher is still a good looking game today. I installed a hi-res texture pack someone made for it, which improves most things, but the default game is so good most people don't realize it was done with NWN's engine. CDPR are a talented bunch to be sure.

If all Geralt cares about is saving Triss, then it could be the only choice for him. Really depends on what priorities you have put in place for Geralt.

I'm on my third Witcher book and I'm still not sure I want to see Yen in this game. She pisses me off more often than not. The writers really have their hands full with her. Making her the slightest bit appealing outside of her looks wil be a monumental task.

So yeah. Triss.

I agree regarding Yennefer; she doesn't impress me much, and seems to cause Geralt more pain than happiness, while on the other hand he gets along reasonably well with Triss, who adores him. Alas, I don't have access to the third book (Times of Contempt) yet, but what I read in Blood of Elves left me rather cold toward Yen. CDPR might be better served leaving her out of W3, unless they have a direct line to Andrzej.

I doubt that.
Yennefer, Ciri and Wild Hunt will most likely be the part of the main plot.
Especially since Reds already said countless times about Geralt searching for his loved ones.
Yen bringing Geralt more pain then happiness? At least she is honest, doesn't manipulate, lie and trying to use Geralt as her thrall.

The game will take place somewhere across the Skellige Islands and the mainland.
If Novigrad will be available (i think they already confirmed it), Oxenfurt also might have a chance to appear.
If Oxenfurt will be accessible, we will definitely see Shani. Dandelion should also be there, at least on Roche path.

She considers herseff Yenn´s best friend, yet she lets Geralt think Yennefer has betrayed him, refused to help her on a quest that almost costs her life, wants to use (Lodge politics) her (and Geralt´s) surrogate daughter as a baby making machine. Games wise, she´s taking advantage of said best friend´s boyfriend´s amnesia to get him into her bed, not even asking about Yenn before she starts remembering.

Don´t know if I´m leaving something out.

Even with open world, I half-expect something like Gothic 1&2, you could go almost anywhere... but early on almost anything could take you for breakfast - literally. But first time I killed an orc, that was worth it.

Pretty much this.
I don't realy remember the books anymore, the one part where Yenn figures out Triss and they start arguing, what pissed me off the most is that Triss lied and tried to deny everything she did//will do.
I know Yenn acted like a **** to Geralt several times, but she never tried to hurt him or abuse his position.

Triss was doing this since she meet Geralt. After he receives amnesia, she tries to do everything to get into his pants and force him to believe that she is his "true love". It's funny how they changed Triss from TW1 to TW2.
She reminds me a lot on Yenn in the first game. Her attitude, the way she gets pissed when she sees Geralt  drunk in her house,  she cares and worries a lot more. I'm glad they made her more faithful to the books in TW2.

Interesting how a lot of people, especialy non book readers are saying they should ditch Yenn because they won't have enough time to introduce and do her character justice and also claiming most people will go for Triss.
I wonder if people will see Triss the same way when Geralt will receive all his memories back and when Yenn will tell him about his past.

And yes this should be in the game and Reds would be idiots not to include important conversation like this.
Even though i started hating Triss after books, at the same time i started liking her character even more. I love how everything is sooooo f....ed up in The Witcher world.

It's my Geralt's choice. That's all I ask for. No way will I be impressed if I'm forced to love Yennefer. But I SERIOUSLY doubt CDPR will do that.

I never said Yenn should be forced on anyone and i wouldn'ti even want that.
Hell, i'm hopeful that Triss and Yenn, won't be the only choices.
I hope we can end up with Shani/ someone else or just say **** it and be with no one

I may hate Triss as well after finishing the books. But as of now I have to consider TW2 the canon Triss for my Geralt. So the irony here is I can't forgive book Yen, but I can relate to the game version of Triss. What a clusterf*ck. Relationships and romance in TW is indeed f*cked up. On one level I appreciate what Sapkowski is doing, on the other hand it irrates the HELL out of me because it hits too close to home.

She gets more likeable as the stories go on. She still has that ****y streak though, so if you completely dislike any sign of ****iness, you prbably won't ever like Yennefer.

Well they did force everyone into Triss bed in TW2 so who knows

Bath scene was optional. Waking up naked next to Triss in the prologue isn't.

Bath scene was optional. Waking up naked next to Triss in the prologue isn't.

And people complain about Liara at the ME forums. Anyway, TW3 will show if this was planned or we were just unlucky the team had a really idealized idea of Triss. Just don´t get outraged if it turns out to be the former, Triss was always a *****. And she´s getting nowhere near Ciri if she is in the game.

But at that point all that's confirmed is that Geralt likes to bang Triss. That's not the same as being forced to have Geralt love someone, as you can later define how much your Geralt actually cares about Triss.

But Geralt wouldn´t, that´s the point. What Triss did is more than he can forgive. Yet in the games Triss gets lots of whitewashing, while Yennefer is barely aluded to (Triss has reasons not to ask, but Jaskier?), or just in flashbacks. It´s like the VS and Liara in ME2, but a lot worse.

I haven't read any of the book with Triss in it yet, but why does game Triss necessarily have to be whitewhased? From what I understand, it is simply Triss seizing her chance with Geralt having amnesia and Yen gone. She may appear purely innocent and helpful, but as soon as you have background knowledge of Yennefer, it becomes clear that Triss is manipulating Geralt. The identity quest in TW1 also hints at this if you choose to romance Triss. It will mention that Geralt feels like he once loved a sorceress greatly. Obviously this was not Triss, but Geralt doesn't know that. So what would it be that Geralt cannot forgive? He doesn't know the truth of Triss at the time. Only at the end of TW2 he completely gets his memory back, so we might get to deal with a changed opinion of Triss in TW3.
