I can't believe they lost

Wasn't Watch Dogs a CG trailer and end of?

Lol, what?

There's a half-hour of Watch Dogs footage out there. Compare that to the Witcher, which has--what, 30 seconds? Of a dozen different scenes for a second or two?

I'm looking forward to The Witcher, but Watch Dogs looks amazing.

Fair enough, that's alright then. The thing that bugged me was the thought of a CGI trailer winning over the Witcher 3. But if it had a 30minute showcase, then good for Watch Dogs.

There were two games that made an impression at E3: Division and TW3. Watch Dogs looks good...and well, like Assassins Creed in the future. It looks good, but very familiar. There is a reason TW3 won 50+ awards at E3.

I personally feel Ubisoft's making some absolutely fantastic games. I'm very pumped for Watch Dogs (I wrote a 4000-word analysis of the E3 2012 ten-minute game demo), as a Splinter Cell fan I'm glad Blacklist is here, and it appears to be fixing the problems Conviction had (the whole new voice actor and face of a boy thing is off-putting, but it's hardly a big deal), I personally enjoyed the ship gameplay in AC3 the most so I'm looking forward to AC4 too. The Division looks amazing, though I won't be getting it first because it's console exclusive and second because it's always online, and the same for The Crew (though it's on PC).

However, I can certainly, certainly understand the viewpoint that all of Ubisoft's games are the same. Outside of Far Cry (and The Crew), their big upcoming games are all third-person adventure or shooter.

But this is a Witcher thread.

I finished TW2 a couple weeks ago. It was pretty good. The third act had quite a bit more politics in my opinion than the rest which was nice. The ending was pretty good. That whole idea of suddenly revealing either incriminating or vilifying information about the antagonist at the end is risky business, but I think they pulled it off. In the end I let Letho walk away, because killing him would change nothing. He wasn't planning on killing any more kings, and I grew to understand that I really wasn't Temerian so I held no..."duty" to Temeria. In addition to him saving Yennifer. And to be honest I kind of wanted to do it, just because it's such a unique thing for a game.

All in all, pretty good. I still think I'll have a more enjoyable time of it when I get a card that can run it at 30+, hopefully 60 FPS consistently. That ending fight is a real bear with a framerate in the teens.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time with The Witcher 2 ! Now, play it again ! Act II with Iorveth ! Do it !

Anyway, Killing Monsters site has been updated yet again. They just can't release that CG trailer soon enough, eh. A new, concept art. No Man's Land looks like some World War I illustration. Good, good.

And a little update on me. Just a few more weeks, daaaaamn.

GOAL: 1000 $
FUNDS: 338 $

Grats, Luxorek; you're 33% of the way to the goal.

I'm keeping an eye on hardware reviews, and will likely upgrade just prior to the game's release unless something is coming out just a week later or however it works out. Will likely be playing at 1920x1200 and want to have all the eyecandy up full.

Only complaint about that screenshot is the reflections in the middle two pools don't look right. Otherwise it looks very much like a wartorn, desolated land.

Meh, Polish wages. But it's a matter of patience - the job is nice and I really have nothing to complain about. If were in Australia I would just work part time in the harbour like I used to, but in Poland I just don't have time for it [not to mention the salary hahaha]. I'm gonna be here till I finish my studies. The little thing I've got now allows me to basically work anywhere and the pay is nice enough.

It's a traffic survey job. Counting cars, taxis, lgvs, mvgs, coaches, buses and so forth from the high-speed camera footage. Various points of Brompton Road, London. Seriously, frak that street : P

Thanks. I've been thinking of saving up the money for later, but... I'm a freaking university student. My brain is telling me not to trust myself with such amount of money. Then again there really is nothing [maybe, with exception of Watch Dogs] that could entice me to buy a new PC this year. I'm sure Nvidia will roll out their GeForce 800 series next year, so perhaps I could wait and snatch myself a discounted 670,680, 770 or 780. Decisions, decisions.

Also... that screenshot in not a screenshot. It's a concept art :P

I figure I'll build a new PC some time before TW3 is released. It will definitely be among the more demanding games and provide a measuring stick for which GPU I should get.

Since we're talking about GPUs, I think I'm going to end up getting a GTX 760, which I will upgrade to dual 760s a few months later. Still not 100% sure, though.

Same here. Putting some money away each week. My current PC has lasted me for a long time now. She's getting old, since '06, so I'm thinking maybe $2000 by the time Witcher 3 is out I should have it.

So for those of you who plan to play the Witcher 3...Triss or Yennefer?

I'm most likely going to have Geralt end up with Yennefer. I kind of feel like their backstory sets her up as his one true love, and I'm not too crazy about Triss' voice acting. (English version)

Depends on how Yen makes it onto the screen. Could go either way.

Yenn
I was going for Triss, but when i read the books and realized what she is doing to Geralt i immediately changed my mind. Yenn and Geralt also have a lot of arguing but in the end Yenn still loved him.

If Triss will come even close to Ciri in the game i will cut her throat.

+1. Expanding Triss to the rest of the Lodge if still around. Maybe turning them to Emhyr, he´ll probably think of something Geralt wouldn´t, like the fried mage.

While Yenn and Geralt´s was rocky in book 2, once they meet in the saga they are fine, while Triss gets the worst best friend award ever.

And game Shani is mostly Essi Daven with book Shani´s background.

Shani, but that won't be an option.

So Yenn, unless Triss from the first game returns then maybe I might choose her over Yen, maybe but I still doubt it.

Yennefer.

I never really liked Triss to begin with. I'm really curious as to how CD Projekt will handle the Triss/Yennefer situation though.

Unless Yenn is amnesiac too (and with Triss´s shilling by CDP I wouldn´t be surprised for a guilt free outing for Yenn), I expect fireballs.

I never fully understood Geralt's obsession with Yen (not that it has to be rational), but in the first playthrough I allways try to do what I think Geralt would do. If I feel like it I may choose someone more to my liking in another, I like Ves.
