Geralt's companion also appears to be another Witcher, which is interesting. The Nilfgaardian thug addresses them as Witchers.

I'm pretty sure that was Vesemir. Sounded exactly like him...

If I'm not mistaken he also narrated the E3 debut.

I just did a few weeks ago.

I didn't go 'Oh hey, Vesemir.' when watching the E3 trailer, I went 'Oh hey, E3 guy...' when playing TW1. :S

Pretty much.

More or less made her in Saskia's honour, because I accidentally murdered her my first playthrough. Sorry, gurl. :pinched:

Since when does Emhyr hate his children?

Since his daughter Ciri was born. He wants to marry and have a child with her.. Because he believes in Ithline's prophecy, which goes like this:
Ciri's child would rule half the world, and the son of her son would rule the whole world.
Ever since then he was trying to kidnap her and also killed her mother Pavetta in the process.

Prophecy might be true, might be not, considering she is one of the most powerful mages and has power of space and time that allows her to travel in different dimensions.
But i realy feel sorry for her, aside from her friends everyone wants to use her, that's why she is constantly on the run.
Emhyr didn't invade North just because of the land or power.

The screenshot where people speculate Ciri is his traveling companion is clearly a woman, so he probably has temporary companions like in TW2. Unless Vesemir's grown long blonde hair, which...

I was just watching the trailer again, and I noticed that the guy was not being hanged, he was stood on top of a stump. So he gave her the choice of life and death...

Man I love these details.

I love the quote in the trailer.

"Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling...makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary, the definitions blurred. If I'm to choose between one evil and another, I'd rather not choose at all."

Its also an altered version of this quote from the last wish. “Lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I'm not a pious hermit, I haven't done only good in my life. But if I'm to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all.”

I'd prefer "Monsters are monsters. Humanoid, beast, supernatural... makes no difference. The being's form is arbitrary, the stereotypes blurred. If I'm to choose between one monster and another, I'd rather not choose at all."

Or something to that effect. Evil/Good are just too subjective, varying from one person to another in degree and scope, while many people agree on what contitutes monstrous behavior versus civil behavior, etc.

Regardless, I'm stoked about this game. Currently nearing the end of Chapter 2 in Witcher 2, following Roche's path. First time playing the game so I'm having to adjust after the first one, which I know quite well.

I would put that down to subjective too, since what most of these are, are really linked to the present norms of society.

But this sociological mumbo jumbo is too lame for a Geralt with a beard. Plus, your twist to the line was awesome! A+ :-)

Open in a new tab for hi-resolution. All those screenshots are from Skellige again [check the URLs for the images] - I really can't wait for some new Novigrad screenshots. No Man's Land probably gonna be even more green/grey and washed out than Skellige, which is kinda "meh" to me.

I like them colours, what can I say.

Artwork, looks rather grim.  Perhaps some left over Salamandra experiment from The Witcher 1.

Looks like a more detailed version of Jon Irenicus' tube lab in Baldur's Gate 2. The one where we got to talk to/observe the specimens.

No need to rush since Witcher 3 is still far away

I already have multiple save imports ready to go: 2 pro North, 1 pro Nilfgaard and 2 IDGAF.
Pro North is where my Geralt supports Northern Kingdoms from Roche and Iorveth's side, one is where my Geralt supports Nilfgaard ( i really hope we will be able to side or support them in Witcher 3).
Last but not least 2 I Don't Give A **** where Geralt doesn't care for anything and tries to be neutral the whole time.

Ah, I'm basically just in a hurry to finish the game so I can play something else.

My Geralt is trying to walk the neutral path so will go chasing after Triss when the opportunity presents itself. Fortunately I have time to make other Geralts before W3 ships; gives me a chance to replay the first game, which is still my favorite.

Completed all of Chapter 3 and the epilogue last night; short indeed. Only dark acts marring my first, neutral game were accidental support of the Fisstech dealer and allowing Roche to have his way with Henselt. Otherwise it went well going after Triss. Saw the movie after the credits and now I'm officially ready for Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 should be easy - whoever is screwing with Yenn and Ciri is the enemy.

If Emhyr is as he was last seen in the books, he´s more likely be an ally though. Wonder why he´s invading the North again, as in the books it was part of his plan to save the world.
