That person in the horse looks like Ciri alright. Hair color matches and the sword looks like hers. If she is indeed and Triss and co get closer than a mile to her they are dead. Wonder if they´ll include Galahad or broke them offscreen.

To give one answer (from many): Development is really cheap in Poland. $24-30mil got us Dragon Age 2, and $8-9mil got us Witcher 2

Maybe I'll find this one actually playable. TW2 floundered for me due to unresponsive controls, poor voice acting, poor characters/characterization, and a shallow, grimdark atmosphere. I doubt they can do much about the latter two, though.

Please tell me characters you consider good and a proper, grimdark atmosphere. Geralt was around well before Martin brought it to the forefront. And play in Polish VO with subtitles.

I know, it still baffles me. I thought development expenses would be similar. Unless 20 million of that budget is spent on marketing.

EA overheads and debt servicing. They get their financing from the debt markets, which has to be payed off some how, hence the current CEO's stance of churning out a game every year.  Bleurgh  It's like McDonalds, high volume, low quality corner cutting.

It's uncommon that we get a dev which is allowed to actually take their time on things. CDPR, Bethesda, Gearbox thankfully are around, and have earned my good will with TW2 Skyrim and Borderlands 1/2 There are other exceptions Far Cry 3 for instance is excellent, but EA is part of the triumverate with Activision and Capcom, which shove out the same rehashed thing every year.

Considering the latest marketing campaigns by BW, at least it´s true that money would be better expended somewhere else.

Have you played it since they patched it?  I had unresponsive/ laggy controls at the beginning, too, but even before the Enhanced Edition came out that was much improved by patches.

But, er... shallow?  Ok whatever.

I hate games that have decisions and the devs (in their infinite wisdom) think it right to force a (in my opinion) bland and stupid character down my throat.

I want to create my own character thank you. Oh well.

So no Planescape Torment or Alpha Protocol?
I can't imagine passing those two games up.

Anyway, can't wait to read/see more of TW3
