One. And she'll be a central character in the game. She's basically Geralt's adopted daughter and a powerful magic user. The most powerful person in the lore, I think. But she's not a mutant because she wasn't subjected to the trial.

So she won't have the cool eyes like Geralt has? :(

So she's not really a witcher.

To answer the original question, I don't think there are any proper female witchers in the universe. Same thing with female Space Marines in WH40k etc.

Yeah, Ciri never underwent the mutation process. She just did some swordsman training at Kaer Morhen.

Witcher novels never mention if there are female or non-human witchers AFAIK.

So apparently, three "different movement animations" is back - I'm really hoping they nail down that aspect, along with the more traditional RPG elements being tied into the gameplay.

No monster scaling, hope they'll nail it. More Gothic, less Skyrim!

Edit: Also, that caped getup on the right.

I think I know who that is, but I thought she was a sorceress not a witcher. That story also reminds me of TW1 with Triss and Alvin, I wonder if they did that on purpose. I'm hoping the mystery with Alvin get solved in TW3, I'm also hoping to see what connection is it that the Wild Hunt has with Ithlinne's Prophecy and what part will Nilfgaard and Emhyr var Emreis play in that.

I should have said she's been trained as a Witcher but technically she's not one. She's definitely no slouch with a sword though, having slayed one of the best swordsmen in the books.

Yeah, she's not "technically" one, but I still consider to be an equal, to an extent obviously.

I've been thinking about making some lore videos about the Witcher. Basically, who is a witcher, who is Ciri, who is Yennefer to help people get into the Witcher 3. Yeah... I will be doing it definitely.

Good idea I see, considering how many people are curious about those things.

That was actually a poorly worded joke on my part, playing the rabid fanboy. Wasn't meant to be taken seriously, sorry to Entropic if he did. :P

I actually thought you were serious. Never sure with you. But it's all fine.

What are the chances of Novigrad being a single location? That is, not separated into parts. I feel like this was mentioned before, but i don't recall the outcome of the conversation.

Hmm...dubious.

Only because it hasn't really been done before--it seems like it would be fairly straightforward (just load the blocks around the player, like TES does it).

I know they said the whole world will be seamless but I expect occasional mini-loading times like in TW2. Once in a while the game would pause and the loading thingie would spin for a few seconds. It's still better than what we have in Bethesda games though.

I think it will be more subtle than that. A lot of loading screens in TW2 on the Xbox360 version were "hidden". Meaning that the Xbox360 version had a lot more closed gates and closed doors than the PC version, and whenever you wanted to enter the area behind the gate, you'd see a short +/- 5 second long animation of Geralt opening and closing the door. The doors basically function as a "hidden" loading screen without actually showing you an actual loading screen. It works rather brilliantly. I expect The Witcher 3 to have "loading screens" similar to that.

Gothic/Risen games do it and Morrowind (barring Vivec) does it as well. Dungeon Siege games too, although it's not really an open world. Hell, Assassin's Creed does it too from memory.

The concept is fine and has been done, but the scope and the level of detail is what presents a challenge. I do expect a few tricks ala closed doors but I don't think it's beyond them at all.

The big part for me is the cities. Being able to walk up to a city and walk right in seems...out of reach. AC didn't have that.

It might of if they didn't have that close to yearly release cycle.

Incredibly well written article about the main plot from TW2, especially the last few paragraphs gave me insight on things I didn't pick up while playing.

It also gives some clues behind Emhyr's motives and describes the impact of your choices towards TW3.

Maybe there'll be an entry point or city gate that masks loading times. I wonder about the number of buildings we'll get to enter. Novigrad looks enormous so I don't expect every building, but knowing CDPR we'll probably have plenty of interiors/sewers/crypts to explore.

TW1 had you basically enter almost anywhere and I really enjoyed those "Crypts" we got to explore in each act, was really nice. I'm hoping they bring back that atmosphere, man I'm excited for this game, lol.
