Just played The Witcher 2 and can't get over how much I enjoyed it.

I was skeptical. A game with a 'dark' atmosphere is, for me, like food with hot chilis: often it's overdone, drowning out all the other flavor. But I needn't have worried.

 

Combat is more 'bruiser' style than party-RPG style - closer to Batman: Arkham Etc than to DA:O - but the writing provides lots for Bioware fans: compelling story, lively dialog, tough moral choices.

 

Thanks to this Forum for recommending it. Great gap-filler while awaiting DA:I.

The characters, the visuals, the gameplay, the aesthetics, the setting, everything was phenomenal! I was 'fan girling' throghout the whole trailer! Can't wait!

I hope it doesn't drop the ball like Watch dogs did. That one was enough heart break as it is. At any rate, it looks amazing as far as I saw. If they can make the combat more dinamic then the previous game, we might be looking at an near perfect production here. It totally makes an PS4 worth buying.

Indeed. Got goosebumps simply by listening to him, and finally seeing him in all his splendor just gave me the chills as well.

I'm certain TW3 will explain and have an easy entry point for newcomers to the franchise, but I would highly recommend playing TW2 at least since the events do build up to the plot of this upcoming installment (and plus it is a great game in itself).

 No, that's Ciri who's hair is described as "ashen" in the books.

That would be Ciri, a "female Witcher" of sorts and Geralt's adoptive daughter. And yes, Yen is the one with the dark hair.
