Oh didn't know. Thought the game informer stuff was the reveal

The GI was supposed to be released in March.

Nah, the Game Informer cover reveal was for today, its just their March issue, which is always one month ahead.

Can't wait to see more video of the engine.

I want to create my own character thank you. Oh well.

You're free to desire making your own personal sort of bland character.

Too bad just not in Witcher franchise

Only way to make Geralt even more of a badass is to give him a beard. I approve.

Though what I am concerned over is that CDPR seems to be delving more into a personal story for Geralt, and moving away from the political intrigues of the Northern Conflict. While not necessarily a bad thing, I'm afraid that the inclusion of the Wild Hunt, and it's possible implication of it possessing a "threat against humanity" is a concept I'm not interested in delving in.

But ultimately as long as there is a solid, cohesive story that justifies your level of involvement and choices in the game, it will be enough for me.

I never played any of the witchers; and do not plan to play this one. Why? SIMPLE!

I hate games that have decisions and the devs (in their infinite wisdom) think it right to force a (in my opinion) bland and stupid character down my throat.

I want to create my own character thank you. Oh well.

What are you doing in this thread then?

He doesn't know that the only games acceptable to openly hate on the BioWare forums are games made by BioWare.

I'm super excited about this game, just as I had been excited about the first two before they came out, but we still have to wait for it at least 1-1,5 years. What do I expect?

1 Great voice acting.
2 Interesting new characters and old familiar faces returning (both from the books...khmmm: Ciri, Emhyr, Yennefer, Vezimir and other witchers... and of course from the games: Zoltan, Triss, Dandelion, Roche etc.)
3 An immersive and interesting main plot.
4 Lots of politics and mystery.
5 Moral and plot twisting decisions (they said already that there would be no different paths etc. only choices and consequences)
6 More Nilfgaardians, more Temerians, more Order of The Flaming Rose and more Scoia 'tael.
7 Very spectacular and unique settings.
8 Great music.
9 Lots of role playing.
10 and more Geralt of Rivia... should I ask for more?

I'm definitely pre-ordering, but I'll need a few tweaks on my computer for this game if it will have higher system requirements than The Witcher 2 (though now I can play The Witcher 2 on high without a problem). And of course:

Is it weird that the thing I find most comforting among this batch of news, is how CDProjekt readily champions their independence? How they dislike the notion of some big time publisher telling them how a game should look, and that the only input that matters is from the consumer?

AWESOME. B)

It isn't weird at all! It's exciting! It's like they are actively and successfully recruiting former BioWare fans. At least BioWare has their 'new' fanbase lolol.

What I respect about these guys beside their professionalism is that they are not doing this to please people (not any publisher, nor the fans), but to make great, intelligent and memorable games. They wouldn't write a story to make fans happy. They write a story to be great and interesting.

Badowski continued, "People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note. Technology has progressed to where we can finally tell the story the way we want, with the visuals we want, in the world we imagined. This will be the ultimate fantasy RPG experience, and while we're hardly out of stories to tell, we believe it's time for us to look to new worlds and new horizons to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can create."

Good for CDPR ending it on a high note.

I can respect that. Go out with a bang instead of making sequel after sequel. Good for them.

...eh. I liked both the shallow sex and romance in TW2. Don't need things to get too smarmy.

Same.  That's one area where they don't need to listen to critics.

However everything looks fantastic.  It's too early to say, but I like them showing the motion capture.  I hope for combat that's more fluid and less frenetic.

Same.

Super excited about the announcement. Will pre-order.

While I have utmost respect for CDPR and adore The Witcher(s) and can't wait for Wild Hunt, there is one thing that really bothers me. They come out little "snobby" in their videos and there is almost always a little insult against other companys, mainly BioWare. No, I'm not gonna boycott CDPR games because of this, just wondering why would anyone do this. It's pretty stupid IMO.

I don't think they come across as snobby at all. I find them very enthusiastic and ambitious. They sound honest and down-to-earth as well. If there are little jabs at the "suits" and common publisher practices, it's deserved, imo. I find it rather nice they're doing their own thing and show how things can(/should) be done.

Not liking everything I'm hearing, to be honest. Open world and no "chapters"... I like a focused narrative.

Still... pretty sure it will be well worth playing. I'm simply a little less excited.

Here is to CDPR! And (hopefully) getting WB to give them the bloody rights to LOTR. Make a LOTR RPG and I'll go to Poland and worship you as gods.

Seriously, that dude outside Jorrvaskr? He won't have **** on me.
