Origins was better than The Witcher 2, at least from a gameplay and RPG point of view.

The Witcher's an action game with RPG elements more than it is an RPG with action elements, not to mention the combat which is rather dumbed down.

You deserve a slap just by calling Witcher an action game. DA2, ME2 & ME3 is what you call action game with minor RPG elements.

Yeah. Those games that have a dozen characters all with a lot of lines of dialogue, banter and their own storylines. Those games that have different endings based on your choices. Those are clearly NOT RPGs.

Instead of.. you know. The game about a white haired dude and his plot irrelevant sidekicks with 2 endings based on choosing the edgy human or the inlovewithadragon elf. ( WoW did it first )

Don't get me started on the Dodge > Dodge > Igni > Dodge > Dodge > Igni > Heliotrope > Slash > Slash > Igni some more combat.

Does it really?

I found it rather generic.

Not to say The Witcher 2 isn't a great game. It's in my top 3 RPGs... but it isn't Mass Effect, nor Dragon Age Origins.

I'm just gonna leave this here...

It'll do a hell of a lot better than I would in explaining the complexities and intrigue of the Witcher 2. It's really the closest thing you'll come to ASOIAF in terms of sheer scope and politics.

Oh, here's everybody's bucket

Yes different color endings are really "different".

You could change the entire plot by the end of chapter 1 depending on who did you side with. Your decisions actually had impact on several characters and kingdoms by the end of the game.

If you are gono complain about dodge, there is a free mod on CDPR website (created by developers) that removed dodge and replaced it with parry.

Try harder please.

The only choice that affects your witcher 2 ''plot'' is the person you choose in the first act.

Never said your choices affect the Witcher 2 plot or ending, heck i never said anything about the Witcher 2. You however ". Those games that have different endings based on your choices.". The only choice that affects ME2 and ME3 plot is.......wait none, well maybe ME3, just pick you favorite color at the end.

Can anyone from mainland Europe tell me how much the Collectors Edition costs there? On CDPR's forums last night there was talk of it costing something like 80 euro's in Poland. It's finally available to pre-order in the UK now and they are charging £140, which is a bit shocking compared to the prices bandied about last night.

I'm a fan of Bioware.

But if you don't like the Witcher, why are you in the Witcher thread?

ASOIAF is not perfect because the writer isn't perfect. As far as fantasy fiction goes though it is the closest to being perfect.

And quite frankly, while I love Bioware, they always play it safe.

The Witcher takes risks, and that's what elevates it above everyone else.

Good day.

PS. It has Charles Effing Dance playing the Emperor. Therefore, better.

Please don't feed the troll peeps.

Managed to successfully preorder the CE for PS4 yesterday. I'm hopeful the DRM free PC version will be gifted to console owners free - in the manner of TW2 - in time.

Oh look, the fanboy realised he was barking at the wrong tree and is now using insults.

Move along, people.

Using emotes on a forum?

Can you be more of a nerd?

Are you really calling someone a nerd on the fan forum of a ROLEPLAYING GAME company?

This game has high waifu potential. Curly long hair vs redhead, the only right choice is the third option.

Actually, I was hoping to see Ves as well.

Just saw the trailer.

Jaw hit the floor.

A game that looks leagues ahead on other RPG's. Including DAI.

I'm guessing they occupied it, poor Roche. But it wouldn't be a stretch, seeing how it's not all that far from cities like Novigrad.

Aww, I thought we were actually really going to Nilfgaard.

Would be a bit dissapointing if we're just staying in the north again, especially Vizima.

I like the idea of visiting the places from the first game in this final chapter of Geralt's. Feels like everything is coming full circle and might increase the feeling of achieving some closure with the story and choices made in previous games. Unlike another game trilogy that I won't mention here.
