There are snippets in the novels that imply that Nilfgaard does conquer the entire world eventually.
That wouldn't surprise me since Emhyr is literally the smartest man in the lore.

Only fools kill Letho. Can't wait to fight alongside him again against the hunt.

Much like Geralt didn't have a choice to follow Foltest and other northern monarchs around. Besides, the north might even be better under Emhyr's rule.

I can't really blame Letho, for the most part he didn't have much choice after he got captured by Nilfgaardian secret police.

Exactly! You just can't say no to Emperor Emhyr especially with that intimidating voice.

ALso witchers normally don't say no to royalty, they might hate it and openly say it but in the end they do what they are told as shown when Geralt is still in Foltest services in TW2.

I confess, I killed him in my last playthrough. For the first time in 10 playthroughs I remembered that I promised Roche that I would. And for the first time, I decided to keep my promise.Only fools kill Letho.
Of course, that was my Chaos-shall-rule Playthrough, where I sided with Iorveth, Spared Sile, Killed Stennis, let Philippe escape and Removed the Domination spell from Saskia.
Just for sh*ts and giggles, I'm thinking of making that game my canon and importing it into TW3 to see what happens to the north.

You seem to think I consider Letho a enemy, how adorable, also I never lower difficulties so 0/10 for trying to rustle jimmies.
I wasn't trying to ruffle your jimmies I actually wanted to put a

I'm thinking of getting into the first two games this summer. How long is the playtime from start to finish for both? Are the books good reads?
Witcher 1 could take a while, took me about 32ish hours my first runthrough doing most of the sidequests. Witcher 2 is significantly shorter, probably because of all the plot divergence. I'd say about 20ish hours for a first runthrough.
Books are definitely worth it. Though I've only read the Polish versions, not quite sure if the English translations are any good. I've heard the fan translations are better than the official ones.

It's one of the few games where I consider the controller to be equally as good as KB/M.

Yeah, you'll probably get some polarizing opinions on that in here. I personally prefer M&K, but there are a lot of folks in here who prefer a gamepad too. I can see the merits of it for this kind of game I suppose.

I really hope they got the old composer back as well
in TW2 they kept Skorupa but lost Blazczak, and while TW2's soundtrack was excellent there was something missing IMO.

Agreed.
Nothing beats the Lakeside at night tbh.
TW2 had some really beautiful atmospheric tracks like 'A Nearly Peaceful Place' and 'Dwarven Stone' but neither hit quite the same notes as some of the first game's tracks did.
