I'm at Vermire, in a spot that I now understand is really, really glitchy. The Normandy arrived with Ashley and all, but after that, the two doors in the area aren't opening, and I can't go forward or back. Can't interact with any objects or people, either.

I loaded an autosave, but it was in the same place. Still stuck.

I'd been rotating saves, so I loaded one from an earlier part in the mission. That one put me in a square surrounded by impenetrable darkness - maybe I saved in an elevator or something? I'm apparently stuck in that save, too.

Is there anything I can do to continue the game? Or do I have to choose between giving up and starting over?

I personally have never had this problem. Sounds odd. I have had situations where i've been stuck in a place on a chair, and i couldn't get off it. To me, it sounds like you may have to give up or start over (i would go with start over, or get a save close to where you are with similar stats/stuff).

I did have Shepard walk into a desk on Virmire and Liara came in from behind and trapped my shepard. She was stuck and i couldn't break out of it. So i had to quit and load an earlier save. So your not the only one who's had trouble on Virmire.

Never heard about glitches on Virmire and not entirely clear which area you're in here. Is this the Salarian camp or the place in Saren's base where the Normandy arrives to place the bomb? I'm guessing from two doors it's probably the latter but objects and people around make it sound more like the Salarian camp. And are you unable to interact because they just don't respond or because you can't move? If it's movement then using the PC console to shift Shepard's position could be worth a try. In any case have you tried EA tech support and the player/player support at Answers HQ?

i had the same issue. i reloaded the auto save like 6 times before anything worked. try a few more times and wait about 5 min each times, i hope it works for you.

I've had a problem where Joker never landed with the Normandy at the bomb-site. Very frustrating. But try reloading a save, even if it has to be from a bit earlier.
