Didn't know where to put this, so I played it safe and posted it here.

I'm trying to create a video with Windows Live Movie Maker, and while I had no problem saving the project file, for some reason it's just refusing to export the video.  It gets as far as this:

Image IPB

And then nothing happens.

At all.

Once I tried leaving it for a few hours but absolutley no progress was ever made.  I've tried Googling the problem but couldn't find anything relevant (The common problem is with the program crashing totally, something I'm not getting).

Is it because I'm using a mixture of different file types or something? (the clock is a flash file, the the picture a .jpg, and both sound files are .MP3.

If it's any help, my PCs specs are:

AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.00ghz
4gb RAM
1gb ATI Radeon HD6780 Sapphire Toxic (updated the drivers a month ago)
Win 7 Ultimate x64 (service pack 1)

Any help would be useful at this point, as It's driving me up the wall.

Thanks.

David.

Looks like its unable to render. How big is the file?
Also are you running anything in addition to movie maker? I suggest closing all other programs when you are rendering.

Stop looking at porn without an antivirus.

You're just like my dad.

Well it's only three and a half minutes long, and apart from the animated clock it's just the one picture, so I can't see it being any bigger than about 20 or 30 meg. Only other program I'm running is Avast! Antivirus.

I use fraps to catch a few of minutes of gameplay and its not uncommon for it to be a few gigs. Check to see how big your clips are. If you made them with fraps, they maybe huge despite being only 3 min.

Also what are your settings you are using? Is it HD? Try a smaller size to render.

Just checked the size of the clock and it's 448k. The jpg is about 170 I think, with the 2 music files totalling about 4mb.

I'm only using the standard settings, and decided against HD because I didn't think there would be much point.

Your specs are fine. I cannot see a reason why it wouldn't render. Have you tried a different file?

I had thought about it, but I was thinking of doing was trying a different program to see what happens (managed to find a compatible version of Windows Movie Maker 6).

Try a different file or use another program. From my perspective, I would be unable to give more information. I hope you get it to work.
