You have to finish the wave that you got the medal on for it to register, just like all other challenges. If you got disconnected during that wave then you'll just have to suck it up and try again. Shouldn't be that hard to do a Bronze solo with a Devestator, you don't even need all that equipment. Good luck with your raging though, I'm sure they'll take it seriously.

I did complete the wave in which the pop-up 75 shotgun kills was awarded.  The problem was the disconnect at extraction.

Went, burned more gear, and did it all over again and got it the second time.  Seriously, why doesn't the game save status after each wave in the event of a disconnect (no, not a problem with my internet either).  I'm thinking an extra commendation pack is i order fro everyone who was ripped off.

You should use TGI (stim packs ftw) with Krysae or any Assault Rifle you have and solo Geth Bronze on Giant or White.
Kill mooks first, leave the bosses last.
On objective waves if there are to much enemies around objective, lure all enemies on the other side of map, cloak and run to objective, rinse and repeat..
You have long cloak duration so  disabling 1234 objective without losing cloak should be no problem for you, but don't rely on that.
On wave 11 stay far away from LZ until there are only 30-20 seconds remaining (depends fom map) and only then run for it.

Reporting back. I set this up on White just to try and play around once before really going for it. Ended up getting the medal and promptly bled out in Wave 7 or 8 due to stupidity. (Cloak really doesn't help much when I'd put myself in a corner between a Prime and a Pyro). So I ended up doing this challenge insanely fast.... 
After slapping myself on the back for five minutes I switched back to the character I've been playing with most lately - BatGuard. Set up Random-Random-Bronze and forgot to go public. Ended up soloing Reactor Hazard vs Geth while wondering why noone joined me.  Soo, I got the challenge and my very first solo done yesterday.  (Soloing with BatGuard is probably the opposite of what this challenge is about.)

EA is crap. Bioware too. I had the same bull* happen to me today on my first try for challenge

Geth Primes Turrets and Drones count for the challenge and the Prime respawns them in seconds.
Weapons with high firing rates tend to get the last hit, even with relatively low damage.

My tip would be to use cryo ammo, and choose the REAPERS.  Each of the little bugs from the ravagers count as a kill, and husks and easy cannibals galore.  A nice close quarters map like GHOST is great for a shotgun, particularly when combined with a Destroyer soldier.  Not a super challenge on a BRONZE solo.

So I got this yesterday on the 1st match we played - PUG and bronze - (thanks all on that one)....heres what happened and I was wondering did anyone else experience the same or similar?...only on pg 8 of this thread so will continue reading

I forget the name of the map we were on - enemy was reapers.....well on round 5 I think we had the escot service mission and somehow we 'lost' the drone.
Everyone was happily shooting up the reapers as they spawned and not tooooo worried about the drone until after about 5-10 mins at which point we were all like....where IS the drone actually??? We hunted around for it and didn't find it and reapers (Canibals ONLY) kept spawning and we kept shooting them....
Well, I had said to the team I was trying for the 75 AR kill and was keeping them updated as that was coming through.  - 25 - 50 - 75 - thanks guys!
After about what felt like 20 mins of only Canibals spawning we decided that really we all must have had the weapon kill medal and maybe we should just bleed out to finish what appeared to be a glitched mission. At that point, when we all said yes to bleed out the round ended as normal and suddenly we were all on the final extraction round.

We completed the mission and 3 of us had the 75 kill medal and 2 of us had the 75 weapon kill medal - this was on a bronze match that lasted nearly 40 mins I think. It was no way normal - I play a lot of bronze

Did we jinx it by leaving the poor done alone somewhere?
I got my commendation pack after it as well.

Cheers anyways, overall was fun and YES take out those weapons you don't usually use and practice
Works great for getting those 200,000 weapon point challanges.

Solo with Cerberus on White Base was best for me got to wave 10 and my 75+ Pistol Kills with at least 15 headshots though sad i didn't finish it as would of been nice to complete my first solo on my first attempt

Edit is the Valiant Rifle any good as the Eagle is awesome which is what i used to get the Gold

The Valiant is good.
3 shots in one clip, does good damage, even if you don't get a headshot.

Yes on Bronze im not good enough to attempt anything over bronze at the moment though the forums dont really say much good things about it so i might just stick with my Mattock II

As someone who is terrible with a gun, here's the setup I used.
Batarian Sentinel, Geth Bronze, Firebase White, Javelin I

Basically, I used two strategies:
1. submission net to freeze them, line up my shot, let the net whittle down their shields in the case of rocket troopers/hunters, javelin one-shot-kill
2. Find someone in cover, javelin headshot them through cover.

Took a couple tries, but managed to get the gold by the 8th wave.

Guess I'll be skipping this weekend's event. Can't solo even on bronze, I'm decent in a group but on my own I get overwhelmed by round two and end up dead. No idea how you guys who solo every level do it.

Looks like you are on PS3, otherwise I'd offer to do a duo with me just clearing the way (I already solo'd mine). I'm sure you can find someone to help you here.

Yeah, don't think so.  Most people I know who play ME3 at our weekly LAN will not even get this one because 75 kills with a single weapon for most players is a pretty hard challenge.

I soloed a bronze match as a soldier focusing on weapon kills and didn't get this one till halfway through the extraction wave.

I've never gotten the gold weapon medal in a group. Never. I've gotten the 75 kills (of any type) medal a couple of times with truly horrible awful terribad groups.

This one is too tough for too many players IMO.

I know I did not get it until the match was over. Judging from an above comment, it seems if you quit the match, it doesn't count, but you should be able to bleed out afterward and still get it.

Only problem I had with this operation was the little congrats square after the game, I could not read the gd writing it was that small.

Beyond easy mode, basically stand by doorway, drop pets and hold down the fire button.

Did this on Friday afternoon to get it out of the way. First ever solo attempt, and had a successful 10 wave survival bonus, Cerberus, Firebase white, Bronze. I set the map and enemy selection on random.

I used a Batarian Slasher Adept, Lvl 2 Cerberus Harrier and rocked the **** out of the level.

Commendation pack gave me a Valkyrie III +junk +junk.

I'm more stoked that I did so well on the level solo, than what I got for completing the challenge. No nearly as difficult as most are making it out to be. Good luck tonight all.
