It doesn't happen for most outside of solos. ****, with my friends, it's actually pretty rare for anyone to have a 75 kill medal at all using both powers and weapons. It also doesn't count as a kill with that weapon if you have ammo powers, at least some of the time, because ammo powers sort of make it not register as a weapon kill sometimes.

It's a reach, but is there somewhere that will tell us what weapon medals we've received in the past? I have no idea if I've ever gotten a gold weapon medal, but if I did I'd like to know what I used so I can do it again. (I really don't feel like soloing.)

It should. As long as you let yourself die instead of quitting.

I wanted to know this as I remember someone posting the ammo (i.e warp) would take the kill rather than the weapon?
Not risking it so skipping that & using 2x Amp's for whatever weapon I use. Guess it has to be Harrier & Turian Ghost 

Hate soloing unless everyone else is dead midway on a wave and have 3 people watching my every move  .  .

If you are concerned about soloing, just duo with someone on your friends list.  By the end of two matches, each of you will have your challenge award.  Just have one person be the primary dealer of death, with a focus on mooks in the first match. The person not trying to get the 75 kills concentrates on bosses and demi-bosses.  Switch roles in the second.

Just pick one weapon to use and stick to it, avoid using powers except to debuff bosses and demi-bosses or stun mooks.  A single shot of ED or overload won't kill a mook, but will temporarily stun them while you gun them down.  Duo makes the objectives a lot easier to complete.  

You can get it done duo in one match, but you have to be more careful on distribution of kills, making sure one of you doesn't fall short.  When one of you gets the 75 kill notice on the screen, plus challenge completion notice, pretty much stop killing mooks at that point until the other person completes.

I'm on PC or I would offer to play a duo match with you.  But there are other folks on BSN that would love to help.  It'll be fun.

Is that true, ammo equipment will not count as weapon kills?

This is going to be a hard one for a powers based player like myself.    Anyone got a best weapon/character combo to make this happen?

1. Operation BALLISTIC
2. Machine Mastery
3. Assault Rifle Mastery

Haven't used the GPR in ages, but I remember it being painfully under-powered. Should I use it on a Turian then?

Use it on a Geth character.  The GPR has great stability, so one of the big advantages of the Turian characters is wasted.  As you say, it's under powered.  A Geth character can help with that in their skills passives.

GPR+EB+AP+AR Bonus gear+AR rail amp.  Ammo as appropriate.  Zoom aim. Head shot.  Won't make it a great weapon, but will make it effective.

Given that I had nobody to do the last event with, this seems like a nice one to solo. Maybe I can find some friends here for xbox.

Going for my trusty Eagle 7 or 8. Pretty sure got a gold pistol kills with that before in a 4 player game (barely I might add).

Normally not a match maker, but Dale Fiorillo is on Xbox and sounds like he is a bit apprehensive about soloing (he says it would be his first), maybe PM him about setting up a duo set of matches, so both of you can score a commendation pack.

His post is a few above this one.  I'm on PC or I would volunteer, 'cause I think it would be fun.  I like duos for some reason.
