Can anyone give some hints for a new player with limited equipment who has only managed to solo 5 waves on bronze?
(I prefer to host & sometimes start solo when noone pops into my lobby, if noone joins I've so far run out of medigel during objectives on wave 6.)

You should use TGI (stim packs ftw) with Krysae or any Assault Rifle you have and solo Geth Bronze on Giant or White.
Kill mooks first, leave the bosses last.
On objective waves if there are to much enemies around objective, lure all enemies on the other side of map, cloak and run to objective, rinse and repeat..
You have long cloak duration so  disabling 1234 objective without losing cloak should be no problem for you, but don't rely on that.
On wave 11 stay far away from LZ until there are only 30-20 seconds remaining (depends fom map) and only then run for it.

Seems like they were referring to new Reapers, like Adjutants. Kind of a stretch, but that's the only thing I could get from it.

Yet another Solo medal.

More than just being being easier in solo, it is relatively easy in solo and often nigh-impossible in multiplayer. When you're playing below Gold (and often in Gold too), there just isn't 75 critter per person unless you milk objective waves. So you have to fight for kills, on top of focusing on a single weapon rather than using the full breadth of offensive choice available to you. And when your teammates have good killing power, you can be happy to get a 50 kills medal.

So you can just solo it ...

At least if you have good friends, it can work well for a group. If you all agree to milk the objectives by leaving the drone/package/upload/4th device/4th target until the very end of the timer.

Well, last week involved squad-mates and people ****ed and whined about how they were going to get FIVE revives in a mission.

You can complete it as a solo, or you can try it in a match. It's your choice.

To be fair, your equiped ammo can steal your weapon kill, ditto if you're a power user.

eg:  as Asari Valkyrie i can top 200K score, but only get the 50 SMG kill medal with the CSMG.  warp, incendary and power kills "steal" away from the straight up weapon kills.

It will be easier to solo bronze, extend objective waves, and as a weapon class with no ammo or powers used.

So over a single game, thats true.
Over a whole weekend, you're highly likely to earn it:  much like 15 revives.  I just played gold as normal, and eventually got my revive medal.

Do you have source on the ammo-power kill stealing? I haven't heard about that. I know that it still comes up as the weapon name on the kill screen.

Undetonated Recon Mines as well as debuffing Proximity Mine on full health enemies while using shield boost on anyone who looks like they might need it.

That's a really good idea.  I do approve entirely of that plan.  In fact, I may have to steal that idea and join in.

The Destroyer's grenades won't be of much use in that sort of challenge, so the Turian soldiers can be better choices. They can be specced to be entirely about making their weapon kill as much as possible. They can both raise their DPS with an active skill (Marksman & Stim Packs) and they can both debuff the opponent to inflict even more damage with their weapon (Proxy & Cryo Blast).
