They're all old now. Hamill and Fisher have aged terribly. Plus they have said it would be an original story.Grivous456 wrote...
So do you guys think that they will bring back Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher to reprise their roles as Luke, Han, and Leia?

If so they need lots of make up (too old for their roles!), or the timeline should be a decade or two later so their age seem appropriate.Grivous456 wrote...

I like to see Jerec, Kyle Katarn and Desann!

But seriously this man needs to die for what he did to Star Trek. Painfully.

This I like!
Edit: Also new Star Wars movies are already medicore imho, i don't think Abrams can do a worse job.

The do not watch list.
It could be worse. It could be directed and written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.

The original story part is still a rumor, for all we know it could be based on one of the books ( again I hope that it'll be some form of The Thrawn Trilogy, or at least an updated version that would work for the actors' ages.) But regardles, the new trilogy (VII, VIII, and IX) is going to be set after Return of the Jedi and most likely involve a Skywalker, and I am excited.

JJ Salvaged what Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis, and Enterprise destroyed, if anyone deserves to die for what they did to Star Trek, it's Rick Berman.iOnlySignIn wrote...

That's one reason why I don't think these movies should be focusing on those characters. It should involve people from the expanded universe like Kyle Katarn, Jacen Solo, Lumiya, Ben Skywalker, etc.The Hierophant wrote...

Weak plots of the Berman era notwithstanding, at least the lore stayed mostly intact. Even Enterprise fixed more than what it broke.TheClonesLegacy wrote...

The 2009 ST movie is beyond any of that. It was the proverbial bull in the china shop of Star Trek lore. JJ couldn't have done worse if he tried.
I can only imagine what he wants to do with Star Wars that'll make midichlorians look tame.

Mission: Impossible III (haven't seen it, honestly)
Star Trek (haven't seen this yet, but plan on seeing it before Star Trek Into Darkness)
Super 8 (this was pretty good)
Really, how much I like this news depends on how much I like Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. Once I see those two, I'll know if this is a good or bad thing.

The story is a continuation of the Skywalker story, so I think Luke and Leia will be in it. I also read it's not the sequel story told in the novels, so it's likely far enough in the future that it's normal for them to look older. Harrison Ford has already said he would love to be in the movie, despite saying a couple of years back he would never reprise the role. If you can get Ford to do another Star Wars movie, then you kinda have to. Disney knows very well that this movie will print even more money if Han Solo is in it.Grivous456 wrote...

But seeing as my idea wouldn't happen, I say Abrams will do perfectly fine. His directing is quite, dare I say, pretty? I really loved his Star Trek. Sure, it peeved me that he deviated and created a parallel universe within Star Trek, but he made it work.
The only thing I would be worried about within the Star Wars universe is if Abrams were to minimize the scale of force powers. Maybe I've gotten used to The Force Unleashed games and again, the epicness of the force in ToR trailers, but really to minimize the scale of any of that could really detract from what Star Wars is, for me.
