I thought First Contact was really good. Doesn't beat Wrath of Khan, however.RedArmyShogun wrote...
Pft whats with you people, as if Star Trek was ever good past the days of Kirk.

I don't think that Abrams is a bad choice at all: I greatly enjoyed his take on Star Trek and I'm interested in what he has done with the sequel. Also, I really don't think that he can make a movie worse than Phantom Menace...
Of course Joss Whedon would have been an amazing choice, but I'm afraid that cloning is not a possibility yet.

Abrams' work has been pretty much solid and good. Perhaps Disney can combine that with a return to some traditional values and stop the Star Wars franchise's new obsession with teaching young children that the Dark Side ie: being evil is the Cool Side
Who cares what tragic butthurt kidults think about Star Wars, it is for small children aged 3 and up and always has been, and George Lucas's biggest mistake was ever to pay attention to the "adult star wars fans" who are probably only posting on his forums of an evening because their airsoft club subscription got cancelled by their mother.

I think J.J. Abrams is decent. I'm more excited about the fact that Abrams always works with Michael Giacchino. If anyone other than Williams himself is to score Star Wars, then Giacchino is the best choice.

I never really viewed the Force as this flashy video game power, in the movies the Force is more subdued. Lightening being as flashy as it gets...Timbaroo wrote...
The only thing I would be worried about within the Star Wars universe is if Abrams were to minimize the scale of force powers. Maybe I've gotten used to The Force Unleashed games and again, the epicness of the force in ToR trailers, but really to minimize the scale of any of that could really detract from what Star Wars is, for me.

Not sure if serious. If so I suggest watching the most mature series of all times "Game of Thrones" that least has 2 or 3 sex scenes in every episode.
Let us children watch our favorite space pew pew.
