would you consider converting?
I kind of like the idea of spreading the gospel of the chantry in hopes of winning back the favour of the glorious maker who will create a paradise on earth.
I'm thinking of maybe saving up some money, perhaps taking out a bank loan so I can establish the first American Chantry to challenge the Christian/Jewish/Islamic/Atheist heathens.

Uh, it *is* a real religion. It's thinly-veiled Christianity.

So, no. I won't be converting anytime soon. :P

Rings too much of a bell with another supreme being who we worship. The fact the Andraste is fiction means not many will follow your faith. Except devoted nerds. And of course us massive DAO fans :D

I think the Dragon Age Origins universe may actually be real. It just happened during a time predating pre-recorded history.

Thedas is a contintent now known as Europe and the fact that we see things differently today is because we lost our faith in the Maker.

The Teviner Imperium eventually became the Byzantine Empire and spread Christianity which is a perversion of the Andraste faith.

I'll join just so I can say "Maker's breath" and "by Andraste's flaming sword!" in public....

oh wait, already do that.

Sorry, no tithes or dues for you ... unless you can get me some lyrium, then maybe I'll give you the acceptable 30 silver donation. ;)

I'll stick to the old Elven gods, thanks. Chantry wreaks of medieval Christianity and im technically Christian too, so i really hate the Chantry and their self-righteousness. :/

Then I may have no choice but to launch an Exalted March on you and your homeland...after the Andrastianism becomes well established.

Me too!  I got tired of classic qoutes such as... "Great Odin's raven!", and "By the spear of Zeus!". Now I can blurt out "Maker's Breath", or "Sword of the Maker!", or "By Andraste's dirty pantaloons!"!

Sorry, but the Chantry teaches us that the Maker will not return until his teachings have spread to all corners of the world.
If you refuse to worship the Maker and Andraste, you are an obstacle to his return.  As an obstacle you can choose to become an asset by converting to our faith or you can be removed by other means.

Mostly indifferent guy who randomly punish people -Do we really need him?
Why, I can picture his return - Hello guys, I am back. Whaaat?  Why are you saying “Maker’s breath”? Is there something wrong with my breath?
Blasphemy –You will be known as insertsomethingominouscar and suffer the eternity of bad poetry. B)

No, I'm a content little Soto-Zen Buddhist...I like self reliance and not having a scapegoat for everything good or bad....and most of my characters shared fairly similar stances...and I let the chant-thumpers know as much.........but always in a very respectful way.

except Genativi...he gets a knife in the head.

Somewhere in my heart, I was sorta hoping that the Jade Empire universe was there as well...I would love to see something to oppose monotheist mythology :)

The whole "spread the chant to be forgiven" argument fell apart when they started editing the chant for political reasons.

It is just an excuse to kill the heathens.

No, I wouldn't, for its conception of the Divine is not purely monotheistic and is incoherent. I prefer to stick with my own religion, thank you.

Nah, the Qun is so much better. :D

My character was anti-chantry in game and I am just as anti-chantry.

So in answer to your previous question....*sigh* Sten?

Religion;

"Go ahead and hate your neighbors, go ahead and cheat your friends. Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end."

Lyrics from an old song but there's more than a little truth there don't you think?

In game I am anti Chantry though.

I don't see how it's that different than the three major monotheistic religions that half our world practice
