what do australians have to celebrate about?
edit: instantly regretted it, let me ask a different way. what is australiaday?
Well, a long time ago, a land called Britain decided that it no longer wanted its criminals, crooks, vagabonds and miscreants...
Britain shipped these wretched specimens en masse to the farthest away place possible...
And thus, Australia was born....
Australians celebrate Australia day, rejoicing that they are all descended from criminals.
I think that's they do anyway?

Instantly when you wrote that this popped to mind. I don't know why...

I didn't see Bryan trolling in this thread. You?
It's a case of 1 person posting so much that people tend to forget others even exist.
Yes mybad. I almost forgot there are other Bioware employees. (Got my wisdom teeth pulled today too, so I'm a bit... unaware atm too)

Australia Day is the day where we celebrate all that is Australian, largely by ignoring our history which was nicely summed up by Annomander. In other words it's an excuse to drink and eat too much while enjoying cricket and/or tennis (not playing obviously, who would do that!) and talking about the coming Football season, how bad the government is and make a few bad Paul Hogan jokes.
Also beach.

My deepest sympathies concerning your recent bout of Australia Day flu. While I feel your pain and overindulgence of shrimp and roo-brew, I am afraid this is unlikely to garner the kind of support you require.
I do realize the blue water drains in a clockwise fashion south of the equator, but I somehow doubt emptying your gullet in the porcelain kaleidoscope will promote a telethon for the condition.
As sad a time as it may be for you, we are, sadly, on a tight schedule. Someone is reporting a chocolate overdose and may need us to provide a PUG to assist.
Cheers
Gave me a great laugh!

Example: we say "dahnce" instead of "dance", "pool" instead of "pewl", "staytus" instead of "status", "Tali" would be read as "Tahli", even typical "Aussie slang" is less common here.
My gamertag (Shrakel) to me is pronounced "Shrah-kelle" but everyone else pronounces it as "Shra-kl".

Then you probably are screwed even faster because Scorpions would very much like that shadowy spot and as soon as you move chances are good it'll sting you, provided it didn't preemptively stung you beforehand.

Don't be so dismissive of my Sneaky Sundays. Also I don't get the public holiday and as has been suggested multiple time I will just play off my face with the Reegar or something and hope for the best.
