Dunno who, but some1 posted  "guide" for grabs on Giant, I read it and done them in less than 2 hours...bronze/cerberus/giant had 3 grabs before that....think was doing like 30-40 a match till wave 6 or 7 ....just running form 1 cover to another as said in the guide.

And about 1 mill melee, still on 400k, tho I got 200k in 4-5 matches with my krogan chars,so I guess 1 solo silver a day and you're done by the end of the week

Anyway, 60 promotions, now that's a headache INC . I started last week, had only 6 so far, I think Im on 20+ now, I buy packs, 100k...20 packs, most of my promotions came from it. I can't really imagine ppl actually playing for all those levels ( I do play chars for challenges and stuff, but they combined wouln't make it for half of the promotions you need )  I guess Ill end up with lolz of lev1 consumables, but I can live with that ^^ So I guess Ill stick to packs for my N7 banner.

Thank you, never thought of it. Grinding bronze waves for challenges feels a little lame anyways but doing it on gold is just way too much. I guess I'll have to do it.

And yep, promoting can be a pain in the *, as for me I've been going all the way because I want the URs I'm missing so I've been spending my credits on Arsenal Packs, so yeah, it's pretty tough. I'm almost out of decent consumables too. Just curious, what packs you usually buy for leveling up so fast?

Did it in 3 days (of course not full days, just in the evening) while doing grabs on White and soloing bronze and silver with my Kroguard for Lonewolf and a couple of lawl Geth Gold.

i'm only struggling ot get grabs really,

i tried grinding them on a solo match but nothing wants to take cover where it can be grabbed, or better yet sees me moving and combat rolls away from cover

i got the melee pretty fast though without even trying still need ot finish grabs >< 250 for lvl 3 was way to high a number

Eh, if you play regularly and use melee a lot you'll get it in the ordinary course of play.

Also it's not that hard to do, get a kroguard, slap on a hydraulic mod, strength enhancers and put a melee attachment on your weapon, rock some silver matches, or gold solos if you're bold so you get all the juicy kills.

this. Kroguard solo on Geth glacier is easy and you am also grind out the grab challenge as well

i gotta say i found this one easy. I never even grinded ro tried for it. It just happened. I have so many characters i play melee builds on. the AV and Batguard which were both new. the krogan sentinal, the GI all great for it

Worst challenge in the game. It was pretty much the only challenge (along with the grab over cover) that I really had to grind.

I have just never been a big melee player. The batarian vanguard did help though. Still, it took a long while. I was getting maybe 3-4% per game, and that's being 100% focused on melee.

Pick OP melee speced kit (Any krogan, huntress, any vorcha, any geth, any jetpack turian, ect ect) slap on shotgun with omniblade V and gear of choice (hydralics, martial biotic, juggernaught, Berserker, whatever.)

Jump into any silver pretty much (but collectors is probably the least preferable option) run around absolutely wrecking everything in sight - profit. Im particularly fond of huntress and havok speced for melee, martial biotic for huntress you can sneak up and AOE entire groups of all geth units except prime) while the havok takes grenade equipment so he has plenty of stim packs: havok strike heavy melee smash jump back rinse repeat as needed.

Shadow HM can decapitate multiple mooks. Two is common, but I've hit 3 in one slice before.

The first time I actually looked at melee damage, I was at about 500k points. I built a Krogan to finish it off when I got near 750k. Didn't really "push" for it until I got close.

Grabs...those took a while but I preferred to let them happen naturally. You can probably rack them up on maps like Vancouver and White

Grabs are way worse. I'm always playing on the lookout for possible grabs and I occasionally run accross the battlefield (and get myself shot) just for the chance to get a grab. I haven't really played my melee builds since the challenges were published since I want to get the weapons banner.

I'm still significantly closer to finishing Melee than Grabs.

To level up fast buy recruit packs to resupply your consumables. Play u/u/gold for the xp and promote the moment you hit 20th. Play u/u/platinum when your character hits 18th level. You won't have to play a character lower than about 14th level if you stick to this process. I was averaging about a promotion per hour my first time through.

I have seen your video before (congrats again btw!). And I know, I did my grab-over-cover first before finishing up the melee, 2 birds 1 stone. Still... ugh... just took so long to complete. As a non melee player, it just was not fun for me, at all. Whereas, pretty much every other challenge I enjoyed.

I didn't bother to grind the melee damage until the end. Just melee and grabbed during random matches. When I finished all of my grabs I had about 100k points left to go on melee so just grinded that last chunk to finish the challenge off.

It will come in time, don't really need to focus on it right off the bat. If I had tried to grind out 1 million melee points... I would have burnt myself out, I doubt I could go through with it.

Done it twice without really trying....500k from doing it a third time. Just give it some time.

Melee points really wasn't that hard. I got it naturally. You just may be overlooking what can melee. Beyond the krogan, batarian, and vorcha a lot of characters can melee. Most sentinel can melee. Infiltrators do a good job at it too particularly AOE ones like the GI, asari, ghost. Alot of the vanguards do it well too.

Grabs on the other hand I really don't know how you do that naturally.

With a GI, I was raking in about 200k MELEE points per game. No shots were fired.. at all. And I was completing the mission in less than 20 minutes. GI's are mobile nukes. Krogans... are not. They're tanks while the Geth are not. Completed that portion of the challenge in a day.

Whenever I want this challenge completed again I just solo gold with the kroguard like many have said. Also, I've found that Vancouver is one of the best places to get the over-cover grabs done. Just solo bronze or silver and stay near the spawn where the vents are. The enemies usually stand right next to the vents lol.

[Krogan Sentinel + (Claymore + Omni-Blade) + Strength Enhancer + Juggernaut Shield]*12 Gold games = 1,000,000 melee points***

Can't you get ~200k in melee per gold solo if you milk the objectives? Maybe I am remembering wrong but it didn't seem like it took more than 5 or 6 games to grind out the melee or grabs. Giant/Geth/Gold w/kroguard seems like a safe bet. Especially for the grabs. Dat upper control room makes it easy.

Alternatively, if your goal is to get the BoB banner, just work on the other banners and play normally throwing in a few melees here and there.  By the time you are close to BoB you will have already gotten the combat mastery banner.  The first time I got it, I got it by grinding.  The second time was just by default and I didn't even realize it until I saw it pop up as notification.
