Just a quick vid about the awesomeness of the Typhoon. For some reason, one guy made a thread calling it a boss killer and everyone made fun of him, which really shows how little most BSNers know about the game. :?

It can one clip every single boss unit in the game, even Possessed Praetorians. Not in the vid because I didn't bump into one but definitely doable. It took 129 bullets to kill a Praetorian with 37575 combined barrier/armor. A possessed one has 50670 so it would take roughly 174. A bit less though because of the gun's mechanics. Also, note how it completely trivializes Praetorians.

Most people said PPR > Typhoon. Some even said the Revenant was superior. :blink: Well, try to do what I did at 1:49 in the video with a PPR/Revenant. I stood my ground and single handedly depleted most of the wave budget in 29s, without moving a single inch. The PPR can't do that since you need to stop firing once in a while. 

BTW, does this look like a gun that needs a buff ? :innocent:

Yes the gun needs a buff. Compare it to a PPR. PPR does more damage, is more accurate and has no recoil and weighs less. Both are the same rarity.

You do need to stop firing once in a while, but a player will almost always kill stuff faster with a PPR than with a Typhoon.

this plus you are using it best char for this gun other n7 rare AR are just better:blush:

I ran the Typhoon III on my HSol earlier today, and it took ~130 bullets to kill a Brute on Gold. That was with EB + EM + AP3 + ARush. And as for that Atlas, it takes ALOT longer to kill on 360, just sayin'.

I can't explain it, I guess it must do more damage on PC.

The PPR takes too long to deal significant damage. It would have been problematic here : http://www.youtube.c...NQ0ax7c#t=1m03s for example.

Also, weapons manufactered by Fisher Price are lame.

People who think the Typhoon is bad are dumb. It's extremely powerful...

Sure it's not what it once was... but it doesn't need to be what it was, b/c it's fine how it is now.

It's good on more than the Tsol/Destroyer too... Krogans make good use of it, and I imagine the Geth do too (Geth Trooper pic in the menu has a Typhoon).

A minor buff would be for non-Destroyer/TGI mainly.

As someone else pointed out, on-host Phantoms would take longer to kill as well, but yes this shows how great the Typhoon is on the best setup for it.

The Human Soldier is just as good. Maybe even better vs bosses.

And then obviously you have the Turian Soldier. Or the Geth Trooper. Maybe even the Turian Ghost.

Well, that's nice if you actually have a level X.


A few months ago I was looking for advice on how to solo gold & everybody was using a Harrier X.  I only have Typhoon & Harrier V.

Destroyer's name mine as well be etched onto the gun- it was made for that kit, and is subsequently the only one I'd really use it on over the harrier or PPR.

On a more serious note, that guy got called out mainly because he owns quite a few private jets, is friends with Katee Sackhoff, has five cars, owns plat while his manifest clearly says otherwise, is capable of composing soundtracks while being deaf, claims some fanart was made by him while he just googled them and just genuinely talks nonsense.

Ultra Rare AR X on a powerfull weapons-platform kit killing large armored units - whats so special about that?

I am fairly sertain that what he is pulling off (shooting large targets at medium range and smaller ones up close) can be done with the other AR's too, with the difference that it also can be done on longer ranges and on other classes.

The Typhoon is a beast of a gun in a sertain setup. Sadly that setup was nerfed twice - one time too many. Bring back the Typhoon to its former glory to widen its appeal to ther classes!

You're using it on a Destroyer, which is the perfect match for this gun. 30% more damage + Clip + ROF. Plus stagger resistance.

On another class it's worse.

It was actually made for the Tsol. It just happens to also be eye-meltingly powerful on the Destroyer and Hsol among others.

The rate it takes down an Atlas is obscene.

It's not underpowered at all. People just like to compare it to what it was at launch.

Or maybe it's at a low level. Low level Typhoons could be brought up a bit in terms of damage.

I think the Tsol is better for the Typhoon personally. The spread gets so tight you can shoot all the bullets through a soda straw at 20 paces!

Also... I think it's worth mentioning... the Typhoon synergizes MUCH better with power usage than the PPR. The ramp up on the Typhoon is pretty short... it's not like the PPR where if you stop at any point in the clip you just F'ed yourself and might as well wait for the ammo to regen.

thats why i am requesting a solo video with a single atlas , i will duplicate on console and try to compare if that is the truth

I swear they didnt nerf as much as they did on the xbox 360. Cause links n7 fury does so much more damage and now this guys typhoon is crazy strong. Nothing like xbox. I guess cause the devs play pc
