I haven't played since 3 years or so but I want to do a new playthrough for DA:I
so is it playable (graphics ...)? I know it's a bit old

Heck yeah it is. Especially if you have it on PC where you can mod it out (improved graphics, additional armor and weapons, even an additional companion). Let me know if you're playing on PC and I can give you the short-list of must-have mods to enhance your playthrough.

DA:O with mods hold up incredibly well. It's still a stellar game from the folks at Bioware. imho.

I have not played it since DA2 came out, I guess it still works.

Not sure how this is DA3 related though.

I just started up a new game a few nights ago with a female city elf. We won't go into the embarrassingly high number of playthroughs I've completed.

sure. First, go to dragonage.nexusmods.com

Then consider the following mods:

Look & Feel
Dragon Age Redesigned - Nearly every NPC redesigned including companions
More Hairstyles
JB3 Textures - improved gameworld textures
4Aces Hires Pack 1 - Though, with work, this can be combined with JB3 Textures to keep it simple, just choose this one or JB3
Pinneapple Tree's Vibrant Colors - New hair and eye color shades
Pineapple Tree's Vibrant Hair - More realistic hair
Morrigan & Leliana's Sacred Ashes Face Mod - Mods those two characters to look very close to their CGI counterparts (If using this, be sure not install the ones from Dragon Age Redesigned)
Isabela & Flemeth - Provides continuity by making Isabela and/or Flemeth look like their DA2 counterparts including Izzy's signature DA2 look. Personally I leave Flemeth as original since it can make sense, and just used the Isabela re-do.
Honorable Mention goes to "Ferelden Models" - For those folks that have trouble creating a character morph that they like, you can pick from this artists many models. Tons of different complete looks to choose from.

Arms & Armor
No Helmet Hack - Show/hide helmets per character
Armor of the Devout - Chantry based armor sets including custom one for Leliana
The Pheonix Armory for Females - New Rogue Armor and Weapon sets (Armor is female only)
Wings of Velvet - New Mage Armor set including staff and jewelry
Armor of the Black Fox - New Rogue Armor Set
Armor of the Sten - New Warrior Armor Set
Ivory Tower and Nightfall Bloom - Arcane Warrior Armor & Weapon Set (Really needed for Arcane Warrior fans that don't have an appropriate armor set)
Jojjo's Weapons - Bunch of new weapons
Grey Warden Runic Armor Set - New Armor and Weapon Warrior set (available in silver and black)
Mord Sith & Kahlan Armor - For Legend of the Seeker fans

Gameplay
Extra Dog Slot - Allows you to bring your Mabari as an extra companion throughout  the whole game So 4 character slots + Mabari
Ser Gilmore Companion - Voiced companion, including interaction with other companions. Granted the va work is amateur but it IS a complete mod. You can even take Gilmore through Awakenings XP.
Improved Atmosphere - Livens up the game world (people aren't standing around-- they're doing stuff such as blacksmith's smithing, kids running around, etc)
Advanced Tactics - Strengthens the tactics menu with more customization.
Skip the Fade - If the "in-the-fade" part of the game bothers you, it'll skip it seemlessly while providing the quest progression, xp, and stat changes that would have occurred had you played through it. Purely optional
DAO Mod Manager - Easy way to get most of these mods installed. Dragon Age Redesigned has it's own built-in installer.
Of Noble Cast - Alters Noble origins to make more sense (You start in plain clothes, and you have suitable gear for the child of a noble family, etc)
MADD Gift Guide - Adds "who's it for" to gift item descriptions
Morrigan Restoration Patch - Restores fully voiced Morrigan content/scenes for Morrigan that was removed from the DA release. Careful with this one-- can be a bit buggy at the Coronation- Prior to that, it works great.

There's much more, but that'll get ya goin'

Just finished a playthrough and saw content I had never seen by making Loghain a Grey Warden and then seeing it through to the end.

I still play it. I still think it has the best ending for an RPG that I have ever played. That's just my opinion. And Broodmother... What a nemesis! I also think the characters were well thought out and developed. There are so few RPG games that I can play as a woman, and not only that, but the woman I played in Origins was not deformed (e.g.: Isabella in DA II), as on so many other games. If I have offended any other posters, I apologize in advance. I just wanted to say what a wonderful game this was in its day and and it still ranks up there in my top five.

Yes. Well at the moment I'm on a bit of a break from it because I recently finished a playthrough a few weeks ago. I start another playthrough every few months or so.

Also QFT:

It's true that the graphics look pretty old, but that's okay. The combat is SLOOOOW (too slow for me) but some people like that for tactical reasons.

Personally I find it really difficult to get through these days. I have two playthroughs that I started a few months ago and haven't touched since.

oh yes

That game is so unbelieveble Good, a real masterpiece in epic storytelling.

Unfortunatly after DA2 and ME3 we will never see a fantastic game like DAO again. we have left that golden era of wonderful RPG
