Hello BSN, I love the Venom shotgun. What's the best class for Shep to fully utilize the Venom? I only used it on my VanShep and Shepdept. I was thinking Soldier, but I'm not sure if Marksman or Adrenaline Rush would do much for it.

Infiltrator can make really good use of it. But is there any weapon that the Infiltrator cannot make good?
Engineer can probably make really good use of it as well. Use pets to distract and/or Sabotage/Chain Overload/Cryo Blast to stun, stagger, or disable and go nuts.
Marksman may make the charge-up time faster but I have never tried it using Marksman. I would think it would be crap under Adrenaline Rush since it would make it slower to charge up.
A Tech Armor+Fortification/Barrier/Defense Matrix tank Sentinel should get some really good use out of it as well. And I am sure that a caster Sentinel could use it as well.

Obviously the infiltrator would be the best class to utilize it because of tactical cloak.
Its mostly a gimmicky weapon for single player, your better off ignoring it unless you're bored, it belongs in multiplayer.

Honestly I found it best on the soldier followed by the infiltrator. Infiltrator gets upwards of 90% extra damage from tact cloak, up to 10% from the passive and whatever bonus from whichever ammo type you may be using. The soldier can get 75% from adren rush, upwards of 25% from the passive and incendiary ammos + explosive burst.
So both get a total of 100% potential weapon damage boost to the weapon which leaves it to come down to the ammo. Incendiary + explosive burst has got to be one of the best for this gun like a lot of shotguns because each fragment has it's own individual 50% chance to detonate an explosion.
The venoms charged shot releases 6 total fragments which means on average you'll get about 3 explosive bursts per charged shot.
I too loved this shotgun and had a ball using it on Priority Earth on insanity difficulty. During that section where you enter a parking garage and get attacked by a ton of husks and a few brutes I clustered them all up and shot at the ground with 1 charged shot and managed to take everything out. That was on a soldier shep.

Soldier.
Damage boost from Adrenalin Rush and DOT plus priming for Fire Explosions on everything in sight.
Direct hit with a charged shot brings down a brute, a charged shot on the ground in the middle of enemy crowd is enough to let your team mates finish them of.

Just finished my Insanity run with venom and a senti shepard.
Here is my feedback, I've been playing with warp ammo as a bonus power :
Until L50, i could one shot anything in the game with Inferno Armor (+30% power recharge/dmg) provided i had debuff my target once (warp or proxy mine)
After L60 i could one shot brutes and likes, but it lacked a bit of raw power against Atlas, Prime & Banshee.
So, i ended up with N7 armor, 30% dmg power and 20% wpn dmg, and it was enough to Burst banshee under 1 second provided you casted : Overload (shepard) + Proxy mine (Garrus) + Warp (liara) and a shot from venom.
Conclusion : it's a tremendous weapon for a caster oriented Shepard, reaching 166% power recharge rate with it and the berserker SMG with light materials. I guess Warp ammo bonus power counted much toward my damage output.
Why would you like it for an infiltrator ? It's absolutly overkill given you already One shot almost anything in the game in Insanity with far less +weapon damage, not even mentionning Bonus damage from cloack

Caster Sentinel with Warp Ammo destroys EVERYTHING with the Venom Shotgun. Just put on Warp Ammo, Tech Armor and run through everything - nothing can stand in your way.
Against Boss Units just use 1 Warp, then laugh.
