I always preferred City Elf, that way you can call everyone else racist and complain about how underpriveleged you were growing up. Also, you get to kill rapists.

I'd either go with Asari or Krogan.

Since they are long lived, it has the potential to add plenty of background story and character development. Plus, either of those would just be plain fun.

Why?

The turian can have the same voice actor as the male human while the Asari (or the turian female) the same as the female human. They would have to record some race specific lines here and there, that's all.

Quarian, especially if it's a prequel. They're my favorite race and they're probably the most imaginative. Otherwise, Salarian or Drell. Asari would be cool, too.

BW won't do this. They're already cutting corners, they won't add an expence. How they could compromize is by having less human squad members and aliens who add something new to the lore; presents a new perspective on their species. A less-than-flattering perspective on the asari as a whole would be awesome, a redeeming perspective on the batarians would too. Add some depth and variety to the universe; deviations from the perceived stereotype.

I never play human given the choice in games, except when I don't know **** about the game's universe and races. Like my first DA:O playthrough.

Interesting point there about life span. If new ME is start of new trilogy then having protagonist who can live hundreds of years would allow some great storylines and allow repercussions of various choices to be shown far longer down timeline. If you copy Wrex storyline etc, have young Krogan struggle with some kind of Merc storyline and end up becoming clan leader to band if misfit troops. Cut to 200 years later and you are now fighting for control of Tuchanka.

 turian definitely.a turian soldier,who comes across a government conspiracy on the citadel.goes rogue,gathers a team of soldiers,and hunts down those in the conspiracy.all the while being hunted by his own people.kinda like the A team in space.as long as there's a krogan who shouts "you ain't getting me on no starship",I'll be ecstatic.lol.

Hanar, Human, or Asari, I think it would be cool to play as the Hanar lol but there is something about playing as a Human, maybe cause I'm human I feel more connected to playing as one than as an alien. Always wanted tentacle for hair so Asari would be neat to play as too.

Asari, I always wanted to play Asari. I wuv Asari than Turians, a new species and one of the others. I hope we play any species, any gender. I be happy with only few options, mainly the popular species.

It surprises me so many want their character to a be human. I would definitely prefer to be an alien, so basically anything else besides a human. However I think I'd actually like my character to be an Ardat-Yakshi; tragically misunderstood yet very dangerous.

Being a salarian would be a riot. Playing an entire SP campaign (or multi-game campaign) with a salarian infiltrator a-la ME3MP would seriously make my year.

If everybody had to vote for a specific race in the New Mass Effect game what race would you choose? But remember it's the spicies with the highest votes that will end up being the race that everybody needs to play. You can fully change their characteristics as well

Asari or krogan personally but I honestly hope the next mass effect game will allow players to choose what race they want the main protagonist should be so everybody can win instead of only a certain group of individuals lol
