Phase Disruptor is actually a Combat Power, like Proxy Mine.

I couldn't get Barrier, we are talking about the same Barrier, the one on the Kroguard? I tried but I couldn't get it to work. I will test again with teh Shaman.

Avoid using Disruptor Ammo ?

Shoot a Marauder, Centurion... with Disruptor Ammo to stun him. Use warp, he can't dodge and you trigger a techburst which strips his shields. Use Throw.

I can't get Barrier to Prime anything. It lifts targets, it looks like they are primed but no explosions.

You bring up a good point, I will add this to the 'more experienced' section. The only trouble with this is not all characters can do this. Characters without a power that both detonates and primes and a detonater can't pull this off.

As an avid fan of the Krodept, Barrier can prime a single lifted target. It has a very short window to set off the BE, it needs to be extended slightly. I barely have time to toss a Warp at the lifted target before the lifted effect wears off. I'd say 1/3 times I just don't make it.

PD is a tech power that doesn't detonate BE's, it detonates tech explosions, though


This is Wrong. It does detonate Biotics.

You bring up a good point, I will add this to the 'more experienced' section. The only trouble with this is not all characters can do this. Characters without a power that both detonates and primes and a detonater can't pull this off.

On chars like the DA or AJ i also prefer Warp Ammo.

You can tell I am new with this testing thing, all my knwoledge of this comes from playing the game a lot :)

But it does indeed prime, like you said. The window is also very short. The only way I could get it to detonate with a Biotic Charge was to make sure the enemy would just float it a wall took about 20-25 tries to get 1 Biotic Explosion. However with Warp I had about a 90% success rate.

Window for detonation does depend on power.

If an enemy is hurled in a singularity, they'll be primed for some time.

If the enemy has protections, dark channel works well as a lasting primer.

Pretty good guide, other than your weapon choices. Certain Biotic characters make very good use of heavier weapons (Think Batarian Slasher with a Claymore, or Krogan Adept with a Reegar).

First off, amazing guide. Nothing I didn't already know, but I have used biotics way too much. I like how you actually pointed out that tech primers don't actually unprime targets, and will actually allow two consecutive explosions, sometimes I think most people don't get that.

Something that I didn't see though, that I think should be pointed out: NO power can detonate itself. A different power is needed to detonate, even on powers that act as both primers and detonators.

I think you pointed it out, but I just kinda want to reiterate it, tech can't detonate biotics, but biotics can detonate tech.

On the side not, you might want to add: biotic slash and lift grenades to the detonators list.

Mayby you could list the biotic combos for each class to help newbies figure out which class is best for them. PM me if you want my help. I am a pro at biotics and they are my go to class.

I believe it primes the target it lifts (it only lifts one target, and he has to be down to health).

I've read that it detonates targets that are down to health. Must test this.

Also barrier lifts a single target for 3 seconds. I assume he's only primed while he's lifted, not while he's falling to earth.
