Hm, do you have a link for EA appearing? I can add that to the OP.

Bioware has almost always gone to Gamescom in the past few years, I think it's arguably their biggest and most important European convention in terms of marketing their games. 

(Plus, DA has a *really* active European fanbase, I've noticed the Polish and Russian fansites, so I'd imagine they'd be eager to tap into that later this year.)

I follow their page on Facebook and there is a post naming some exhibitors that have been confirmed and EA is one of them. I don't know how to link the facebook site without logging in and it is not mentioned on their homepage.

Well, interviews which provide perspectives other than the typical creative design, or marketing, angles on development are good right now. If you want to convince your bosses that you should come to PAX AU, you could run with that. I can even curate you a couple of recent local examples, if you like, to support your case.

I think a specific QA window into DA:I's development could be really interesting.

Bioware will be attending PAX Australia in Melbourne.

Melbourne's my hometown, very exciting. Just watch out for the drop bears in the trees. (ask the Australians at Bioware and I guarantee they'll all have stories of chasing off drop bears, it's not something people easily forget)

Updated the OP with more information on EA at E3 and detailed info on PAX AU.

I reckon "fair dinkum chin wag" is a true-blue 'Strayan effort. I'll be at the panel on Friday arvo, looks like a ripper. The local lingo can be hard yakka, but give it a burl and she'll be right in no time - just don't go troppo.

Yeah, I'm really pleased to have a convention excuse to be able to return to Australia. I've never been to Melbourne, but Cameron Lee is from them parts. He'll be our guide since Patrick & Karin Weekes haven't been to Aus before.

I may be spending some extra time in Aus to visit family while there, so it may be possible to meet with some fans in Brisbane one night as well. Just a thought is any Brisbanians read this and would be interested. Let me know.

I think it's pretty likely they'll be at Gamescom, someone from Bioware has gone for the past few years, if I remember correctly. Isn't it the biggest convention in Europe?

And yeah, I'll be sure to meet up with the Bioware folks at PAX AU! I'm not sure what other things are planned (a Bioware Base type thing?) but I should be free for that whole weekend. Melbourne has quite a developed games scene so I'm sure there'll be a lot on around the sidelines of PAX.

I was so excited to hear PAX was coming to Australia and then when I learnt Bioware would be there too...well it's the best thing since Tim Tams!  (mental note: must introduce Karin Weekes to Tim Tams).
