I can actually see them using his PhD dissertation on dark energy in the next game considering the likelyhood of that issue being crucial to the plot.

If the next DLC doesn't have this then I'm boycotting Biowarez.

But is it really that much to ask? I mean, what if BioWare do it right? You've already loved what they've created so far, why would such a "reveal" make you do a double-take on the company, when it should be reinforcing your trust in BioWare?
What's "right"?

It's rarely ever as civil as that, and if it is, it quickly turns into another hate fest where people can vent their frustrations with the series and with Bioware instead of moving on like normal people.
Most have, but why are people still around?
Can't speak for anyone but myself, but I still post because I freakin' LOVED Mass Effect. I still remember how I felt after ME2. Couldn't wait until ME3 came out. Yet now, all I see is this series going downhill now because of tacked on MP that's a boring rip off from Gears of War or Halo. I see a story that makes my choices pointless, or outright nullifies them since that would mean BioWare would have to put more work into the story. I see BlackOps 2 making choices much more relevant and satisfying than a freakin' RPG!

I disagree. I felt that my choices mattered. Are we playing the same game?

Depends. Did you destroy the Collector Base and/or pick Anderson as Councilor?

Try playing the Tuchanka arc with Wrex already dead, Mordin dead, and with the genophage data not saved.
Try playing the citadel coup with Thane already dead, Kirrahe already dead, and not even bother having visted the VS while they were at the hospital.
Try playing Rannoch with Tali dead or exiled, Legion dead or given to cerberus and while allowing Koris to die..
All three of those can play out differently depending on choices made in ME 3 as well as in previous games.

Isn't that cherry-picking? I agree that those decisions should have had a lot more weight, but there are many more decisions that did have a tangible effect.
There's a almost night and day difference between a default non-import playthrough and a full import one...

I played with ME3 with an import save and with default settings and it was the same linear popamole experience in both cases.
Some interchangable throwaway lines and characters aren't meaningful differences.

And yet the two big choices, Collector Base and Councilor, get nullified and don't matter.
Shepard: "Seriously Anderson, why aren't you on the Citadel? I picked you so that the worm Udina wouldn't be in that position."
Anderson: "You look fat after sitting on your butt for 6 months."
Shepard: <_<
Shepard: "How in the hell did Cerberus manage to get pieces of the human Reaper after I destroyed it and the base around it?! Never mind it being near a black hole! Never mind it being behind the Omega 4 relay and I never gave the IFF to Cerberus!"
