I shall shed a single tear in memory of your self-inflicted naiveté.

For me, the damage has been done. What has been seen cannot be unseen, regardless of what happens henceforth.

I believe in the healing power of waffles.

I have no idea what to think about this last DLC, but I'm along for the ride.

What are you talking about? This community is a toxic wasteland full of degenerates who feel entitled and are never happy with anything Bioware does. They hang around here just to make life miserable for the rest of us, or so it would seem.

I'm here because I actually still love the series and want to talk about it with other people. But the threads that get the most replies are the self-serving ones. The ones that start as hate and end as hate, and then start again. It seems like people are more interested in ****ing and complaining on BSN than anything else.

What you do is this then... find the haters, show up at their door step, and give them an epic boot to da face.

5 scoops of premium Raspberry Ripple Ice cream, topped with raisins, sultanas and chopped bananas, 2 tablespoons of rum and set to flambe (or not, if you want your alcohol) = 10 mins of forgetful bliss.

Not really enough to erase the taste of ME3's ending but it helps. ;-)

ps: should work for post hype train dissappointment too.

I take it you are new to the internet and gaming forums in general? ^_^

And what I find a bit amusing, is that you look up this positive thread and start posting hateful and bitter posts in it complaining about all the hate going on. :kissing:

In you opinion Epic...

I had a thread the other day that reached 32 pages in under a day. And that had nothing but positivity in it. Between people who like and dislike the endings.

Like I said, we see what we want to see. And if that's all you focus on, that's all you'll find.

Yeah, that thread was very cheerful and positive. I'm glad Bioware promotes those threads by locking them. It'll sure help making this forum a happier place.

Hey guys, Mike Gamble posted this on twitter a while back:

I've read a lot of the feedback for our previous DLC, and we are constantly trying to improve. Stay tuned for what's next.

there are 3 types of forum posters I notice

Group A) the ones who love the game and denounce anyone who says anything negative about it.

Group B) the ones who hate the game and denounce anyone who says anything positive about it.

Group C) then the rest who either like or dislike the game but say things like "I understand your point of view but to me personally I disagree for these points..etc"

Unfortunately Group A and B tend to derail most constructive and generally interesting debates with antagonistic comments towards each other.

I have faith in Bioware that they will end the mass effect trilogy with a BANG :D

If everything fails and the dlc turns out to be terrible then we should meet at the bar.

Im Buying :innocent:

I've been a Mass Effect fan for five years exactly now, first picking up the game a couple of months after release.

In this time I've had such wonderful experiences, Both in the game itself, and though meeting such a wonderful community here on the BSN. Despite what many, many people say from general observations. This is a great community and I'm proud to be apart of it. I think people just see what they want to see, and for most people the angry/trolling or frustrated comments just seems to linger, but there's a lot going on here that doesn't get spoken about. And if BioWare claim to be as in touch with their fanbase as they parade about, I'm hoping that they'll realise what a lot of people want.

I know that this might get hit immediately with, "not everyone wants that" or "plz no more ending stuff"...

But is it really that much to ask? I mean, what if BioWare do it right? You've already loved what they've created so far, why would such a "reveal" make you do a double-take on the company, when it should be reinforcing your trust in BioWare?

Oh and Choo-choo! Image IPB

I think what they need to understand is that this could be what defines them going forward.  Who do you prove yourself to?  I see this community as full of a lot of passionate people, some who maybe are eloquent, and some not so, but all have opinions they want others to hear.  Many want Bioware to hear as well.  I've always wanted them to know what I thought was so special about what they had created.  This was not just a video game, and yet it was a video game.  Bioware created characters we cared about and set them against this great big foe and through the words they wrote, they asked us to weave our own way through the story.  We entered briefly into the lives of those many of us saw as really living in the ME universe.

See, we all started this journey not all wanting the same thing, so the idea that "not everyone wants that" is never a valid thought.  Not everyone liked the use of eezo or biotics or Kaiden or Liara.  Not everyone liked a great many things.  But in playing these games and glimpsing the lives of these people, we just kind of accepted the things we didn't care for.  You do that even in real life, so why not in a game?

But, in my life I've always wanted a lot of happy endings along the way.  I don't think I'm odd in that respect.  I also want that for other people.  And, I know that that means a lot won't be happy because that's real life.  Doesn't mean I want that to happen in life or in a game.  I've had bad things happen and for me, happiness still wins out-if at some point I find a way to smile again.  That's kind of how I look at this, ME3.  I think if BW could pull this off they would still be creating their story-the one we borrowed.  And those that never wanted anything other than what we now have, who have said "this is their story, no more endings, that's what they've said, live with it" would have to remember those words.  Others might say they'd want more or what was shown wasn't what they wanted.  Well, perfection does not exist.  It never has and never will.  And perfection if it did exist, would be boring.

The one good thing that came of all of this is the unintended speculation for everyone-not the speculation they seemed to think would happen.  It is true that this place has had some of the most varied and interesting of discussions that I've ever seen.  And even those that have disagreed with me (there are a few) have had some really great things to contribute.  If ultimately there's truly no more that will be done or said to conclude this game in an epic, decent way (yeah, my opinion of that), then I won't be sorry for having played the game.  It brought me here.

It's all about perspective.  If all you can see is hate then you might want to look at what it is in your life that makes you only see the negative.  If indeed you consider this thread self-serving and any other that talks about wishes and desires (often for a happier ending), and you see that such threads have the most replies, please inform Bioware.  That might be informative for them that the most popular threads are those that are dissatisfied with demoralizing endings and that want more hopeful ones.

The other problem is I see nothing of hate in asking for an ending that affirms a wish for life for the hero and a reunion with friends and a romantic partner or even something a bit less depressing.  If so, then I think anyone who desires to find love and all the rest is doing life all wrong, showing such hatred.

I believe in you Bioware. Show me you know how to send off this 1980s style action sci-fi story with an ending DLC it deserves. You can do this. Shepard can kick the reapers in the daddy bags, we can have some big Michael Bay explosions, and Shepard can fly off with his/her LI in the end smoking a cigar, and the camera fades to black with some ACDC playing. No stargazer scene, and just end it.

No 2010 pseudophilosophical crap in the end.

I believe in you, Bioware. You can do this.

Me too, aside from just wanting incentive to keep replaying ME3 the fact is we really need an industry where they can look at Mass Effect and say "those are the type of games we need to be making."  Then again EA's souless "don't take risk, appeal to casual gamers, nickle and dime, no SP games, get games out as fast as possible" philosphy will make it hard to take Bioware seriously from this point on.  Sadly its that philosphy is also part of the reason their stock has dropped almost 50% since December 2011.
