I have repeatedly lost my gear in this part of the game. Can get everyone elses gear back but main character does not. How can this be fixed if at all. Plus one character gets stuck and will not move or follow. Another glitch?

This has been a bug that has occured since Awakening came out, I believe. There is a mod that will fix it although I don't have the link handy. The only other suggestion is to strip your character before entering the mine. As for the stuck character, I've never had that happen so I don't have any suggestions for you.

IIRC it's related to having the Key to the City equipped. If you unequip it at the ambush you should be OK. You can tell if you glitched at the start because your character is naked rather than wearing clothing.

With that said there's a ton of bugs in Awakening, I'd advise keeping a ton of saves when playing it.

I think it's more than just the Key to the City. Some equipment will trigger it and some won't. Can't remember what the trigger is. It's a little bit scandalous that Bioware never fixed this, really, considering it's completely game-breaking.

But yeah, if you're on PC, here's the mod:

http://dragonage.nex...s.com/mods/1762

Otherwise enter the mine nekkid.

Not so much. It's a complete pain in the butt, sure, but if you do the Silverite mine early you're still geared out in DA:O stuff that will be replaced in the course of playing Awakening.

My first Awakening character (weapon/shield warrior) got absolutely nailed by the bug on my first playthrough, losing Wade's superior dragonbone armor, key to the city, lifegiver, andruil's blessing, spellward, keening and fade wall, and by the end of the DLC I'd already found better in every slot. The only item that came close to being irreplacable was fade wall, and I still preferred heartwood shield.

Just do silverite mine first. Sure, the bug ought to not happen, but a showstopper it is not.

The SIlverite Mine bug does not only cause the warden to lose their equipment. It also makes getting out of the Silverite Mines impossible. And bearing in mind the bug is triggered as you are entering the mines, that means once inside the mines, the autosave will not take you to a time before the bug triggers. So if you don't have a previous save, you have to start the whole game again.

I didn't have a problem getting out of the mine when this bug happened to me. Sure I was... angry (avoiding the censor). But you can get better gear and by that time you should have enough money to buy some as well. That's if you wait until later to do the mines.

I experienced some weird varieties of the bug during my playthroughs. Once my warden was in underclothing, once in underclothing but with the helmet on, once I had everything in my inventory plus my warden had her gear on, once Sigrun and the warden both were stripped. There is also this black background in the cutscene where the warden is lying senseless which may or may not trigger. Really, it's a weird, irritating and at the same time, funny bug.

Once, I experimented on this bug for quite a large number of reloads. Even stripping the warden completely and then entering the mines doesn't seem to be a sureshot way of avoiding the bug. Some class-specific items and an arcane warrior using magic to equip armor, seems to trigger the bug in addition to those DLC items.

Interesting you should say that. The warden that I lost the gear with was my Arcane Warrior.

I'm experiencing this bug now, but didn't realize there was bug until the end! Had to start over!

I tried stripping the Warden as he entered the mines, but that resulted in losing my entire inventory.

I got around the problem by purchasing the least expensive gear available for the Warden and equipped him with them. I kept his "real" gear in my inventory. If the bug occurs, you'll only lose the cheap gear, but you'll have the best gear available to you when its time to break out!! The Warden can make short work of all the darkspawn at the start of the break out, with no involvement from the rest of the party. The only problem is that you'll never get the gear that you lost back. If your Warden is low in funds, this way might not be doable.

I was going to write a thread on this. I got all my companions gear back from the experimental subjects but not my main character's. It sucks because my warden had the best equipment on - Jarvia's Dwarven Athletic armor (rogue) and two powerful swords

Opps and there's that bug....
If you have a save before the mines, then you'll be okay: just enter the mines without gear (a nice way of saying naked)

I've gone far ahead beyond that save already. Oh well, I just weep for my favorite armor is forever gone. Black blade armor will have to suffice :(

I've just had to take the accessories off and I've been fine. Maybe because some of them are fan made and not official DA ones.

Almost any item that is not standard to Awakening has a chance of triggering the bug...
All it takes is one item glitching, to lose all (or most) of your other equipment

A really annoying bug indeed, and I am rather surpiced and dismayed that the Awakening even got released with that bug in there, and more so that it has never been fixed - and at this point, I guess we'll have to accept the fact that it's very unlikely to ever get an official patch. This just seems like the kind of a bug that would have easily been caught in beta testing, given how commonly it occurs.

Bioware really dropped the ball with this one.

Just had the bug happen to me, three years after release.

I reloaded before the part, and now there is an invisible wall in Wending Wood that I can't get past.

I'm done with this.

Bioware should be ashamed of themselves.

When you encounter such an "invisible wall", try using the keyboard (WASD keys) to move past it, instead of mouse clicks. That's very likely to work.

I finally got past the bug by removing all equipment from all of my characters before entering the mine. That led to a situation that I recovered all my gear in the chest that contains your inventory items.

Also, get rid of low-value items in your inventory to ensure that it's not full. I read somewhere that a full, or nearly full inventory will cause some buggy behavior.

But I agree - it is shameful that Bioware not only allowed the extension to be released with such a major bug, but never fixed it in any patch.
