While I don't necessarily mind that, they spent all of DA2 banging on about it and the storyline was a load of rubbish as a result. It will be interesting to see whether this whole Mage vs Templar thing actually has more to tell. Honestly, I enjoyed the storyline of Legacy far more than anything else in all of DA2.
Really, what's happening at the moment feels a bit like the later Mass Effect games just ignoring the Reaper concept and focusing on the Blue Sun's dubious activities. Seems a bit weird that we've got a mystery that's central to the entire Dragon Age universe and it's getting left on the shelf in favour of beating about the bush on a story that *should* have been done with by the end of DA2.

The option to kill every mage I come across.
DA2 set this game up (so we're led to believe) as a conflict between mages and the Chantry. Mages have gone rogue, and so I want the option to exterminate them.
Not every mage is evil. That was a mistake with DA2. You were obviously brainwashed into believing that.
I never mentioned evil. I simply mentioned they went rogue. As in, broke out of the Circles. Are renegades.
And I want to hunt them down and kill them.

I am dreading however the negativity that some will have regardless - the kind of over-the-top response we sometimes read - you know - like "you are an idiot for liking this game and now I am going to sue Bioware cause they ripped me off" I fully support constructive criticism, but I hate the gratutious bashing part!

I really like seeing lore and decisions woven together and seeing a difference in plays. If it doesn't do that... ah... the magic is lost.

What am I looking forward to the most? Frankly, whether the Dragon Age universe has any life left in it. As much as I enjoyed (and still enjoy) Dragon Age Origins, it sounds like they're hell-bent on shifting the emphasis from Darkspawn, Grey Wardens and mysteries of both and on to the whole Mage vs Templar conflict.
While I don't necessarily mind that, they spent all of DA2 banging on about it and the storyline was a load of rubbish as a result. I disagree. I don't think the DA games are meant to be a serialized trilogy like the ME games. I view them as (mostly separate) installments that explore major events in the history of this world Bioware created.
When viewed as such, I think the focus on the Mage -Templar conflict actually strengthens the series, because it shows that you can tell a variety of stories in one world. It shows that people in Thedas don't just sit around and do nothing while waiting for the next Blight, that they have their own problems within their own borders, and that's an important idea communicate if you want to develop a fictional world that feels properly expansive.

I'm sure it will look nice, but I'm really anxious about the gameplay on the new engine. I'm predicting that it will immediately be apparent we're not in Eclipse anymore, and I'm expecting that it's going to have more behavior dictated by the engine than I'll ever be comfortable with (switching back and forth, I heavily fear that it'll be like switching from a Dragon Age game to a Frostbite game using the DA setting and characters).

DA2 had so few i almost call it an action game.
I want DAI to come back and make the series a RPG again.
