So, who actually thinks Collectors are fun to go against?

So, after actually playing some gold rounds against collectors I have not yet noticed why people think they are the hardest faction in the game. In fact, Cerberus and the Geth put them to shame for me. The only thing that bugs me is the inability to burst Scion sacs and Praetorian bellys with my beloved projectile weapons. But, what do I have a crusader for?
Anyone else find them not that hard or an entertaining challenge?

however, they are hard because they are hard, not because they cheat, which is where the geth and cerberus get a lot of their difficulty from.

The entire faction as a whole is very rewarding to headshot. Trooper/Captain heads, Scion Tumors, Crab 'nuts', etc. I pop heads like a teenager with bad acne when I fight Collectors.

It is only that for some characters they are not they best faction to fight against.
But on the whole for me they are fun.

I like them alot. They are very satisfying to kill... especially Possessed Captains. I hate Possessed Captains... exploding their big fat head right off their shoulders feels so right.

And that's the charm. Their only weakness are big weak points, they dish out horrendous damage but are downed easily. Aquire a hard hitting accurate weapon (read: Crusader/Javelin/PPR do not read: Harrier/Black Widow/Piranha) and prepare to pop some chitin heads.

So can anyone suggest some kits which work better against them? Especially something to go after Praetorians with? Fighting cheese with cheese...

Point blank range Talon shots to the face wrecks the entire faction... even Talon I (which I've been using alot lately).

Complicated maneuvering, fancy powers, and subtle stuff fails miserably vs collectors. Your goal is to punch them in the mouth really hard. The bigger and more straightforward the gun, the better.
Sneaking around is how you get triple-tap butt-lasered through cover. Or carpet-bombed with a dozen perfectly-thrown grenades.

Now I wonder. What kit are you using the Talon on? That sounds like a hefty infiltrator to me.

Killing Praetorians is as simple as this:
Do whatever it takes to make sure their power denial bubble doesn't go up. Approach the Praetorian and make it land... then after they land goto town on them like normal, aim for the crotch... it's their weak spot.
I like alot of kits against them besides the normal DPS kits (Destroyer/GI). I can Novaguard/Slayer pretty effectively against them... the Asari Justicar wrecks them, ditto for the Huntress (make sure to bring Warp Rounds). Reave and Dark Channel both go through the Praetorian denial bubble.. making them invaluable vs Collectors. Fury does good against them, all the Soldiers...
The Engineers struggle against them somewhat... b/c Incinerate doesn't do enough damage against their bosses... and it's on so many of the kits.

If I'm on my friends account (which I have been pretty much for the last two weeks) then GI.. If I'm on my account... any Biotic with Warp Rounds will do.

I noticed that the chance of getting Collectors/Hazard Ghost are higher when I host as my Human Adept with only Acolyte equipped.
Murphy's law at its best, isn't it. Still wonder why grenades and turrets trigger power bubbles.

I hear this a lot. But often isn't the bubble duration significantly lower than their flight time? Meaning that you might as well just proc the bubble when they lift off, since refusing to proc it with direct powers while they're in flight is the same as having it up? Or is there some additional minus to the bubble deploying that makes up for the additional power time window you gain by just getting bubble over with.

Cerberus & Geth just employ crap load of BS & cheating. I mean :-
:-Partially huskified ninja with a blade that has tons of health, negate almost damage by fliiping, can deploy a bubble to block all powers & melee, has a high damage & high ROF attack, has a sword that has a huge radius & stagger, magnet hands. But she looks like a stick
:-Partiall huskified adepts with armor, runs faster / as fast as Drell with Adrenaline Mod, has uninterrupted smash animation, no cooldown on biotic power, snipes with an SMG, able to roll
:-A geth unit with a weapon that has unlimited ammo, stunlocks, deploys a combat drone that staggerlocks, deploys a turret that has high DPS, has almost no cooldown on the turret and drone deployment
:-A geth unit that can reload cancel missile launchers, shoot missiles with 100% accuracy immediately after spawning...
I would gladly take Preatorian butt lasers over the BS of Cerberus & Geth any day

The Bubble last 10-15 seconds regardless... but it can only come on when they're in flight. So.. the trick is to not trigger the bubble and make them stop flying.
The reason you want to do this is because the bubble has no cooldown... the stupid thing can put up the bubble, approach you and land with his bubble up... then as your team backs away (if they do) it will take off again and put up a new bubble. Simply approaching it and running away elimates all of this... but you need everyone on your team to be on the same page for this to work... so forget it in PUGs.
Someone also said they get DR vs weapons when the bubble is up... but I don't know if this has been confirmed. I know one thing... when the bubble is up they are alot easier to shoot with spray n pray type weapons.
