Well, I have the full Champion armor set equipped on my two hander, and it seems the only set bonus I'm getting is the +3 strength and not the +5% armor. What gives? I've tried the usual reloading, and re-equiping. I'm not using any mods.

Well, i usually get the chestpiece enchanted with RoFs. And I don't really bother with runes unless necessary, for conserving money.

That's right. But the point of the post being, my curiosity about whether this is an issue that others have been facing as well, or is it just my installation getting bugged somehow. I've seen no mention of such bug in the wiki article on The Mantle of The Champion. So, tried my luck here.

If you have steam version like me you can simply use repair option and see if it helps. I have a nightmare bug that my squaddies get friendly damage when fenris charges with scythe and does combo continuation. My squaddies and me are far away from him yet they get damaged and knockbacked. xD It's so annoying that I'm planning lowering to Hard, although I dont have any other problems on nightmare.

If you have low cunning, you normally would have no defense at all except the game gives you a base 5% as a freebie. Therefore any +defense gear you get that doesn't break 5% will not have an effect, since the freebie doesn't stack with extra defense.

Try equipping a +defense percentage amulet or something, while having the Champion Armour equipped, and see if that effect shows up.

Umm, it is armor rating in question in this case rather than defense.
