I've chosen a male Dwarf Noble because the look and lore of the dwarves in DA is just great. The noble origin specifically interested me because of the temporary companion, Gorim, and some of the content of the origin which would be spoilerish.

Male City-Elf Rogue (Ranger)
Male because I'm male, easier for me to fit in my role.
City-Elf because I like their background, easier to relate to since they are looked apon as 2e class, I'm not that tall myself.
Rogue because I've always liked their playstyle, will also fit more with my character, City-Elf + Rogue sounds like a good combo to me.

Well, i tend to pick elves when its available, for the reason, i am just interested in Elves, i went with male, i tend to go with female on WoW, since there is no romance arcs on that game, but since this game has it, i will be playing male and a rogue.
When the game does come out, i am hoping Rogue is more survivability then the WoW Rogue does, only time will tell i guess.

Im gonna be first a Female Elf Rogue, her name will be Raina.
I want to be her because I made her look kinda wild and I think the wild look with the assassin class would do nicly:D

Male, noble, warrior because it is my favorite fantasy type character. Something about going into a battle in full plate and a 2h broadsword gets me excited.

Hopelessly undecided myself.Soeverein wrote...
I'm undecided yet, but leaning to male, noble, warrior.
Male for sure. Almost always play my actuall gender.
Not a dwarf. Though the dwarf origins look awesome, I have never played a dwarf, and for some reason I just am not drawn to playing one now.
Not a dalish elf. Least interesting origin to me, and I don't like the tatoos.
I want Allistair and Leliana in my party. Allistair, by default, will be my main tank probably. I don't particularly want to do a lot of healing if I pick mage, so Wynne too.
I am thinking male human dps fighter (dual weapon), or male elf dps mage, or male human dps rogue (dual weapon). Lol.
As someone who has taken Kendo and (superficially) studied medieval western martial arts, I know dual wielding is unrealistic in any form it has ever been shown in a game, but it is still super cool. And wielding a two-hander (or even a longsword) indoors is completely unrealistic too. Or really a two-hander against anything but heavy calvary... but that is another debate...

Female Human Noble: because I want to be a warrior and status bonuses help it. I really liked the character I made as well.
Male Dalish Elf: well, I wanted to play a dalish on my first playthrough, and it will be nice to discover differences between male and female. I liked the character I made too

Name: Medina (Elf, female)
class: Rogue
Origin Story: Dalish Elf
Well, that's my first character. I plan to go ranger/archer style, because... well, I'm not sure. In fantasy games with character creation I tend to go for some kind of magician most of the time, although my very first MMO character was an elven thief, and I have been known to occasionally pick up a sword or an axe for some close-quarters combat. I suppose I'd just like to "go bow" for variety's sake.
Female. Because that's my preference. I'm a man, but I feel that it's easier to relate to female characters. I usually only create male characters later so that I can experience the differences in gameplay and/or story progression. I think the point where I started playing almost exclusively as female characters was after I got Final Fantasy X-2...
Elf, and Dalish Elf at that. Well, elves are cool, although I usually play as humans, and it just seemed fitting to go with a Dalish Elf origin for a Ranger/Archer-like character. Born free in the nature, and such.
The name "Medina" just popped into my head. Probably remembered it from Chrono Trigger. But when I looked it up I realized that it's also an important city to the religion of Islam, so it sort of became a theme for my first four created characters to have names related to Islam: Medina, Yathrib, Mecca and Sunnah.
The characters I've created come with various combinations of genders, races and classes, and I'll probably end up playing all of them eventually. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'm going to try to replicate myself in the creator...

I'm gonna play with a elf mage and a human noble warrior, simply because the races complement the classes and they are also the opposite of eachother elf/human and mage/warrior, this way I hope to get the most out of the game after 2 characters

I'll be playing a female Dalish elf warrior. I was a huge Baldur's Gate fan back in the day, and the character I played throughout the series was a half-elven ranger. The archetype has kind of stuck with me, so I usually play characters in the same vein as that one, for nostalgia's sake. And I play a female because I am female, and I find it most fun to RP someone most like myself for the first playthrough.

My first character is a female Alienage Elf, and going rogue.
I chose the City Elf - Origin because ... well, because I was fascinated of the brutal confrontation of racism, the life and strength of the city elves, their strong sense of community and family, and because I find it refreshing to roleplay such a delicate situation, ranging from an arranged wedding to a killing spree.....
Plus I just love the imagination of the PC having such a close-knit family.. I can easily see him/her as a child together with Shianni and Soris, the three being an inseparable team. *chuckles*
Elf, because... I continue a playing-tradition, I guess. I always ended up playing elves. Though this time around I surely will be playing dwarves and humans as well. The origins are just too tempting and interesting to ignore them.
Female... because I usually start with a character of the same gender as me. It makes it easier for me to dive into the game, to relate to the playercharacter.
Later on I surely will play a male character as well, just to experience the difference and to roleplay a different character:

I'd really love to play a female (!) Orc warrior with a huge 2h-axe, but since that isn't possible, a human rogue is my first choice.
I like both rogues and mages the same way, but since this game has a really dark setting i thought the rogue would fit better.
I don't like humans, but i still like them more than elves and dwarfes.
Drow/Dark Elves > Orc > Wolves/Beasts > Humans > Elves > Goblins > Dwarfes > Gnomes
Since there are only three races, the choice wasn't difficult.
