So- i'm curious if you (The BSN users) think that the Mass Effect games should have had any guild/faction quests?
I'm playing kingdoms of amalur right now, and I absolutely love the idea of factions! Never seen them before! (I'm serious, i don't play a lot of rpgs you see, started with it only four-five years ago). In particular i love how there is two factions for the mages, a bard one, a warrior, and a rogue one. This adds lot's of replay value i would say, as if you're playing mage you will obviously have more use of the mage-factions than the warrior or rogues ones, and vice versa. Love it!
Oh, and if anyones curious to what a factions is, it is a group you can choose to join and be a part of. You will often get lots of rewards and quests from this group, and some of them even have their own storyline! I have heard The Elder Scrolls have factions/guilds, but i've never played those games.
Of course, Mass Effect isn't a old-school fantasy game, but I still believe that factions/groups (What would they be called in a futuristic universe?) would be a great way to add more to the universe, and increase play-time.
For example
Soldier/Vanguard/Infiltrator - Turian faction?
Adept/Vanguard/Sentinel - Asari faction?
Engineer/Sentinel/Infiltrator - Salarian faction?
Fetch quest faction! Take it easy, just kidding.
So what do you think?
Should Mass Effect have any faction quests?

Doesn't really fit. The Alliance would also be a faction and Shepard is an Alliance soldier - in universe s/he'd be drawing a salary for doing that, which kind of rules out joining another one with the possible exception of becoming a Spectre which is something the plot makes you do anyway. Could be something BioWare could use in future games, but in the ones we've had it's really about getting NPCs to join your faction rather than the other way round.

Doesn't fit in Mass Effect at all. Better in a bethesda game.

Fine then, but I will still hold out hope that it will happen in a future game. Maybe one where we play as an independent mercenary. Then again, that would be withouth Shepard, and that would be kinda bad, so I don't really know.
Also, while you're right that the plot makes us a spectre, they never really use it much in ME2 or ME3. Doing optional spectre business and getting rewarded by experience points, or equipment would be at least somewhat close to what I want.
Well; Thanks for responding anyway!
