Evening..Wasn't sure where to post this. It's not related to story or gameplay elements, only armor designs and aesthetics - I assume that wouldn't fall under spoilers, but if it does, this is your heads up.

Is it just me, not having stumbled across any good looking armors in the game? Or is the fact of the matter that armor design is just horribly benign and monotonous in DA2? Armors were never jaw dropping in the franchise, but Origins still seemed to have armors easy on the eyes in both geometry and style.

I mean, you see one chestpiece of heavy armor and you can safely say you've seen'em all..and the archetype isn't all that good looking to begin with. For a game such as this, the wow factor seems to be missing a lot.

Medium sets and robes don't seem to fare better either - I know of the champion sets late game, but that's not a lot to go on.

Don't even get me started on the item packs - for something they charge cash for, I figured the armors would look stellar - I couldn't give a dang over stats, really, as long as they're adequate to play with.

The mage packs seem descent, particularly 2 sets to be mentioned. The rest, however, are just content for contents sake, some downright ugly to the marrow, others just elicit a genuine "wtf were they drinking when they came up with this" reaction.

Some people obviously played this a lot longer than me - I'm curious what are your favorite armor pieces/sets for various classes and how much do looks matter? Pictures might be a stretch but if anyone's willing ;)

Of the Champion sets later in the game its the rogue and the mage ones that i like the best, as they are very aesthetic. Now as i would always play DA2 as Female Hawke, it was a change to find that the armour and robes are practical and functional, I am hard pressed to think of anyone set of armour and robes that sexualise her. Female Hawke seems very much a Tomboy. You have to look to Bethany and Isabela for eye candy.
I do think the range on offer in Origins was a lot better than DA2. Because just like the maps being recycled, same thing happened with the armour and robes. So the item packs do address the problem to some extent but just not far enough.
As the short development time of DA2 unfortunately lends the game an air of 'that'll do' about it.

Right, well, thankfully, one can always turn to the moding community when unsure ;) There's that.
